OT can Kyle Orton be a player coach?

I missed most of the game except for various highlights on redzone. From what I saw, our secondary was awful and made Brady look 2009-like, but I'm also hearing a lot about BS penalties.

I know it's easy to blame penalties, but what did you see out there? I saw one PI call that was awful.

Turnovers also killed us.

the penalties were bs (totally inconsistent offensive pass interference calls/no calls) but brady went back to being the best QB ever. the guy will retire the day after I die. no pass rush, i kinda assume it's because of injury (kyle williams was playing hurt, don't know about the others)

bills offensive line had a tough day. lots of confusion. belichick > marrone

Brady will beat us when he is 75. And as for your last statement... obviously.

I couldn't believe when the punt team originally came on the field. Marrone just needs help with 4th down situations. If you are playing to win you always have to go for it there and Woods had big plays after that call. The. Bills gave Revis too much respect as they didn't challenge him and he took Watkins out of the game. Chandler should have had 10+ targets as the Pats without Mayo had no LB to cover him.
Pats 2nd half just dominated the Bills D.

I wondered if Pegula actually cares what Moose Johnston thought of his college teammate Marrone as HC or if going to pink slip the day after week 17.

I like Shwartz but where the heck was the blitz in the second half. With the Pats O line being all sorts of messed up and Brady having the mobility of a boulder why in the heck were we rushing only 4 90% of the time. For the love of God BLITZ

Marrone thinks he is back at Syracuse where the talent discrepancy meant that he had to play to keep the game close and try to steal it in the 4th quarter. In the NFL the talent is relatively equal so you actually have to go out and win games. These teams are too good to rely on mistakes to win a game. The Bills actually have a ton of talent except on the Oline and secondary... So what does Saint Doug do? Try to run a scat back up the gut and play a passive no pressure D which means his secondary has to cover for a long time. Brilliant!

I hope Pegula keeps Whaley and cleans it out the coaching staff. Saint Doug is making the same mistakes he made here that caused everyone to want to get rid of him before his last year... Tries to play it way too tightly which caused the team to play poorly. He needs to let it rip or he is going to get run out of Buffalo, especially if Pettine has a better record than he does.

Marrone had Hughes and Williams on the sideline after his idiotic punt that Coach Orton thankfully overruled. he expected NE to run because that's what a brainless meathead would do despite Brady being unstoppable

7:15 left in the game. Buffalo down 30-14. 4th and 2 at their own 40. Marrone sends out punt team. Orton has a sh!tfit, waves them all back to the sideline. 3 plays later, it's 30-22.
Wait, Orton won that? How?

Saint Doug revertin back to Coach Morrone before our eyes. If the Bills don't make the playoffs this year he is gone and deservedly so.

Second game in a row with Orton (gave Hackett a pass with EJ) where we are crazy conservative in the first half with not much production and turnovers. Second halves are a completely different story where magically we open it up and start scoring. Our offense could've won us the game in the second half if given the chance but...

The 3 turnovers in the first half shows me how much of a hex NE has on us. Our defense was DOMINANT as it has been all year and NE, with +3 turnover margin, including 2 basically in scoring position, only had a 13-7 lead.

Then the second half came...

NE scored every possession in the second half. Duke Williams was a nightmare replacing an injured Aaron Williams and gave up at least 2 TD's by himself.

The officiating was beyond absurd, to the point that the announcers actually made it a talking point in the 3rd and 4th quarters, the same time NE started to pull away.

Biggest factor in the game was their officiating of offensive holding and offensive PI. They just didnt call holding on anyone offensive lines, which led to Brady sitting back in the pocket like usual picking us apart. Schwartz needs to adjust, regardless of officiating, as this is now twice a quick pass team led by an elite QB has shredded us (NE/SD).

They called two offensive PI's on us, on one drive, in which we were moving the ball, down 9, but had to punt because of a barrage of offensive "penalties". Meanwhile, watch Edelman and Gronk on some huge conversions, as shown by replay on the telecast, push off to get wide open...of course, no penalties were called on them. Combine this with a phantom defensive PI on us that handed them 3 points and the combination of Schwartz not adjusting, Aaron Williams being out with an injury, and the officiating led to a slaughter at the hands of Brady.

Marrone on penalties "We all saw what happened, I dont want to get fined", or something to that effect. Dude, maybe you should get fined, your job is on the line and the Pats continued their heavy hand of dominance over your team which is as talented as anyone in the NFL. You don't have too many excuses to fall back on. The officiating didn't cost us the game, but it made **** sure we didn't come out of it with a victory.

It was bad, and one of the more lopsided officiated games i've ever seen. When the announcers routinely make mention of bad calls against one team only, it's a problem.

i think Marrone didn't want to waste a timeout getting Orton off the field so he had to grin and bear it. probably pissed him off 30 seconds later when Hogan scored
Please fire Marrone now, the Giants could use some OL assistance.

Anyone else embarrassed that Pugh and McClain said they were from 'Syracuse' last night.

Wow...

I thought that's what I saw during the game but I convinced myself to deny it because I just...I couldn't even...

Meanwhile, Mike Williams has apparently asked for a trade so that love story is now over.

Only a matter of time before Marrone is gonzo.

Why would you want them to keep Whaley? He's just as big a dope by trading Stevie Johnson for Mike Williams (basically) and getting rid of next year's first round draft pick which is really all Bills fans ever have to look forward to on an annual basis.

they spent a 1st and a 4th (or was it a 5th) on a knucklehead who they won't dress and a star who they won't throw to

whaley did such a good job as buddy nix's assistant building a roster so bad that only Marrone was willing to coach it

I'm really annoyed at the benching of Mike Williams for an extra TE or an extra special teams player or whatever Marrone's excuse is. Hogan is decent but we needed another playmaker out there since the gameplan was apparently don't throw to Sammy.

I just hope the Jets end up with Jameis Winston that is the match made in heaven for this Patriots fan.

They targeted Sammy Watkins 3 times the whole game. Revis is a good CB but he isn't as good as he was 3 years ago. David Carr targeted him like 8 times and did well against Revis. The Dolphins made plays against Revis. It was like Doug Marrone/Hackett thought challenging Revis was completely out of the question. Which allowed the Pats to slide a safety on the side. Chandler should have had 10 catches with how easy he was torching Jamie Collins.

I recall Marrone when he was here saying that he didn't like to take chances because he didn't think he had a team good enough to overcome them if they failed. But he then relies on his defense to get the ball back. Why have confidence in them but not your offense?

he just rationalizes after the fact. he just has crude rules where you have to punt at your 40

Yesterday was the first game where I lost confidence in Marrone. Up until that my only indictment of him is that he may sink with Hackett if Hackett doesn't stop sucking at OC.

Benching of Mike Williams for an extra TE or Special Teams player?

The decision to not throw to Watkins because of Revis?

4th and 2 and Orton needs to *****slap you to go for it?

If there was ever a game to take a fine for officiating, yesterday was that game. Instead we get some passive aggressive coach speak from him.

The Patriots had the advantages in the 2 biggest areas QB and HC, but 1-53 the Bills have more talent than New England. Belichick teams typically don't beat themselves, but this year the talent is mediocre and with developing a new OL with a new OL coach Brady hasn't had the time. He had time in the 2nd half without Buffalo blitzing and he showed he is good when given time. However, yesterday's game plan for Buffalo was poor. They didn't challenge Revis with a stud WR and didn't take advantage of no Mayo with Chandler over the middle enough. The Bills OL couldn't protect and the thing nobody has brought up What didn't Marrone kneel the ball before halftime with only 14 seconds from his 30 yard line. If he had more than 14 seconds okay but what a dumb decision he was never going to get 25 yards to try a FG. Instead of going into halftime down 10-7 that decision gives New England another 3 points after Spiller fumble and the Pats got the ball to start the 2nd half and 10-7 became 20-7 before the Bills got the ball back again.

This Pats fans thoroughly disagrees.

Gronkowski, Edelman, Ridley, and Vereen are not "mediocre" by any definition, and they see the majority of touches each game.

The OL has really jelled the past 2 weeks, and gave Brady crazy time to throw in the 2nd half.

While everyone screams about BB not paying big bucks for a WR, instead every year he uses that kind of money to build tremendous depth. That way the team keeps chugging along even when they lose their #1 RB and #1 LB.

Thus I don't buy that point about talent. 1-53 the Pats have a better roster, and that's why they won (*edit* along with BB outcoaching Marrone, but that's a given).

I am surprised you didn't bring up the last 14 seconds of the first half. Down 10-7 from your 31 you take a knee and come out for the second half. Instead he has Spiller get garbage yards and he fumbles giving New England a free 3 points going into halftime.
