OT can Kyle Orton be a player coach?

Oooh! The Patriots fan is telling us loser Bills fans about a loser mindset! Can you tell us more about how to be winners, Mr. Patriots Fan? *grabs notebook and pencil*
Come on all I am saying is don't blame the refs. Its a weak excuse. Complain all you want but when the Pats lost to the Jets in OT last year when the refs incorrectly called a 15 yd penalty on an OT FG after the Jets missed the kick and the NFL apologized the next day or when the refs against the Panthers called pass interference on the last play of the game in the endzone on Gronk. They picked the flag up when it was blatantly a bear hug on Luke Keuchly . I don't blame the refs I blame the Pats for not making enough plays before those horrible calls.
Geez, you want to call me an arrogant pats fan because I don't follow the refs costed us the game model fine but I mean have a discussion and we can agree to disagree.

Lol nice passive aggressive non-complaining. Those two games cancelled out the Saints/Browns games where your LT mugged the NO pass-rusher & the phantom 50yd miracle PI vs Cleveland.

Guess what the common denominator is in those 4 games - home teams get some calls, just like in basketball. Well unless NE@Buf then there's phantom OPI's in high leverage spots. Good on Revis for acting all buddy buddy with his arm around the ref after the Woods TD; he obviously bought some mystery calls.

Sheesh - can't Bills fans have their own thread where they can commiserate among themselves without *Pats fans coming in and shoving our noses in the poo we left on the floor? We get it, the refs had no effect on the outcome and the Patriots are wonderful. Bye!

Really shows how much the internet sucks when you can't go to a Syracuse football board and talk about the Bills in peace.

turns out marrone wanted to go for it but the special teamers didn't get the memo!

This Pats fans thoroughly disagrees.

Gronkowski, Edelman, Ridley, and Vereen are not "mediocre" by any definition, and they see the majority of touches each game.

The OL has really jelled the past 2 weeks, and gave Brady crazy time to throw in the 2nd half.

While everyone screams about BB not paying big bucks for a WR, instead every year he uses that kind of money to build tremendous depth. That way the team keeps chugging along even when they lose their #1 RB and #1 LB.

Thus I don't buy that point about talent. 1-53 the Pats have a better roster, and that's why they won (*edit* along with BB outcoaching Marrone, but that's a given).
If you could take Brady and have him QB New England with the Pats roster or the Bills roster, who would you take?

How the heck couldn't the game be discussed in peace? I am objective and the poster was coming after me when I said nothing to get that reaction. Other posts sure but all of my posts in this thread have been fair.

I honestly don't remember the NO play but fair point on the CLE PI call. I wasn't being passive aggressive I was pointing out 2 obvious calls against the Pats and they didn't deserve to win those games because the games were close enough to allow those calls to decide the outcome.
Revis wasn't challenged blame Marrone for that. The pick on that 3rd and 2 has been called on the Pats 3 times this year. With how crazy defensive illegal contact has been called the refs are calling offensive PI on WRs: I don't think Revis sold it that well just the refs are calling PI for nudges.
My point is that the refs were not be reason Buffalo lost. How about the fact you only scored 7 points in first half and then the Buffalo D couldn't stop Brady in the 2nd half.

There's bad calls in every game.

Honestly, I can't remember the last time the Pats won and the opposing fans weren't adamant that it was because of bad calls. Whatever.
I have no dog in this fight (giants fan, with my own problems after last night) but I really thought the bills got a raw deal last night. The PI's were very one sided. Gronk shoved off on a key 3rd and long and the two on the Bills were terrible.

i was being sarcastic.

Belichek. Purely talking about the player personnel, everything else is the same.

Eh, I'd probably still take the Pats offensive roster. I like Watkins, but I'd take Gronk over any receiver on either roster. And Spiller/Jackson aren't markedly better than Ridley (healthy) and Vereen in my eyes. I guess people might disagree with that. Both OLs have given up the same # of sacks, so I'm not sure that the Bills protection is a ton better. And the Pats and Bills run games are statistically very similar this year, so the OLs seem to be comparable there as well.

Maybe I'm biased because I watch the Pats and only see the occasional Bills game. I just wonder if Bills fans overrate their talent? It's good, and I think with a better QB you'd be better, for sure. But I wouldn't necessarily swap my team with yours, sans Brady.

the penalties were bs (totally inconsistent offensive pass interference calls/no calls) but brady went back to being the best QB ever. the guy will retire the day after I die. no pass rush, i kinda assume it's because of injury (kyle williams was playing hurt, don't know about the others)

bills offensive line had a tough day. lots of confusion. belichick > marrone

Belichick greater than everybody.

Watkins, Woods, Goodson, Williams, Chandler, Jackson, Spiller > Gronk, Edelman, Dobson/Amendola, LaFell, Ridley, Vereen.

I am Pats fan this is obvious. Our skill players outside of Gronk are not elite and Gronk is still recovering from back surgery and a torn ACL.
Buffalo DL Hughes, K. Williams, Darius, M. Williams > NE DL C. Jones, Vince Wolfork, Velano/Silinga/Chris Jones, Niknovich.
Buffalo LB < NE LB if Mayo was healthy but right now its even they have no Alonso we have no Mayo.

The Pats QB, HC, DBs are our advantages which are big advantages. 1-53 the Buffalo roster is better IMO, but our QB and HC are the difference.

Did the refs cause the Bills defense down 8 w/4 minutes stop the Pats from converting a 3rd and 16 and going on to finish the drive with a TD.

The refs weren't the reason the Pats scored 24 points in the 2nd half. The Bills lack of a pass rush was why the Pats moved the ball all 2nd half.

Let's not get back/forth here, we're all Syracuse friends...but this is a limited argument.

What Bills fans are saying, and probably quite correctly in my view, is the reason Brady had so much time was holding (which was seen on countless replays -- there are two officials posted right there to call it...they certainly flagged the Bills several times) and that the reason the WRs/TEs were open were that they pushed off, precisely what the Bills were flagged for twice on a crucial possession.

The absolute collisional best between NFL (piggy bank) and Network was the 2nd and 15 completion, when Edelmann was WIDE OPEN and the announcers said that "Edelmann might not be fast, but he stops fast" and in fact, what he did was stop and use his arm to shuck the Bills defender 5 yards out of the way, right in front of the official.

The same guys who were so intent on stopping Offensive PI apparently missed a crucial one on a crucial play.

Moose Johnston probably wanted very badly to announce what a bad call that was upon review but probably remembered the league bars criticism of the Krafts' Patriots

These discussions just always go in circles. There's always things losing teams could've done better (the Bills yesterday more than others, admittedly). Someone other than Fair could've showed up vs Michigan in the F4, but it still sucks that 1sided refs shut the door on what was still a game. If you don't feel the same way I don't know what to tell you.

When did those PI's vs NE happen - Cincy or KC (zero leverage spots)? Fortunate holding call vs Oakland; that could be called on every running play ever.
Bills overcame some weird stuff in Chicago & Detroit too. Besides the fact that they won, it's easier to swallow on the road.

it seemed like there were a lot of makeup calls in that game. felt like basketball. that 15 yard face mask after the watkins PI was pretty weak, should've only been 5 yards

also that pass interference on duke williams in the end zone shouldn't have been called because it was so brazen

There is no such thing as a 5 yard Facemask penalty, I believe, anymore

THIS.

The Bills committed 3 turnovers and had a stagnant offense in the first half. That was our demise, however you can't just say "make plays" because to "make plays", you have to be allowed to make them.

Down 9 and Buffalo driving with a Woods reception deep into NE territory only to be called back on a phantom offensive PI/Pick Play is not allowing Buffalo to "make plays". On the other hand, allowing offensive holding to give Brady time and not calling offensive PI on Edelman (2 and 15) and Gronk (3rd and 16) allowed NE to "make plays" that Buffalo wasn't afforded the chances to.

The two teams were officiated by two different sets of rules in the second half. I dont find it ironic that when the announcers started to make the one sided officiating a talking point is the exact point NE started to pull away.

Hate to tell you Bills fans, but I picked up your defense for one of my fantasy teams this week so you're sure to get torched.

Gotta love NFL refs. Attempting to legitimize their lame existence by making themselves part of the game at every moment. This fat f___ simply can't help himself. How dare this young man congratulate his teammate in such a savage manner! That type of behavior has no place in this classy game of gentlemen!

The crazy part is he must have thought Hughes was hitting a Pats player, you can see Ridley getting up last. He had every opportunity to pick up the flag, and didn't. Really bad call.

Yeah by looking at his facial expression immediately after pulling the pointless flag you can see he thought he was going to have to break up this huge brawl. Then he didn't want to feel stupid so he told his buddies - "Yep, that guy was being unsportsmanlike, I swear." Instead of doing the professional thing which would be owning the mistake and picking up the flag. Typical.

Yeah it would be a non-issue had he down that. As a Pats fan watching with 10 other Pats fans we all agreed it was as bad a call as you will see.
