OT: Clark's Ale House Coming Back

That is really a great building. It was a great spot for a nice restaurant, when Traditions was in there. But I never really saw a good fit for Wise Guys in there. But Clark's might just be the right one. Great bar, lots of character, and even a loft area, which was a favorite lunch spot of mine. Not conducive to drunks, however.

Hope this is not a tease like previous "re-openings"! Although the report that he did sign a lease for the place is certainly encouraging. Man, Clarkies' was the best bar ever IMHO! Can't wait to heft a few pints before and after a game.

Clark's Ale House is expected to open later this year -- probably before the new year
That's some fine writing and editing. :)

Nice to see it re-open.

You can never have enough quality drinking establishments.

As long as they bring back the bull-nose-hook game...and feather dart boards...I'm good.

Love Clark's, but I always chuckle at the "We don't have a single TV cuz we're old school like Europe" I just got back from my second trip to Ireland/England and EVERY pub has a tv. Don't try so hard to be unique.

That being said, I'm very excited about the bar re-opening and the beef!

Well at least you were able to experience the best roast beef sandwhich on the PLANET. I always order mine DROWNING. Alot of people order theirs "swimming" in the au jus..i started asking for mine drowning which drew laughs from their bar staff but it was always amazing. I wish i didnt read that article cause now i need that sandwhich.

Is this like the Chicago style 'italian beef' or the new england style shaved roast beef you find on the north shore past boston?

i've been off of meat for 3 months now trying to break the 200 lbs mark the opposite way I came - but that pic is enough to get me off the wagon when we come up for the first home game.

only problem with that pic is its not drowning in au jus. In all reality though it tastes amazing no matter how you order it!

Au jus = translation: grease
I want to taste the beef...the horseradish...the roll, and not have it be a soupy mess.
