I'm wondering, is this the first time a Saturday game is only on the NFL pay channel? I am an Eagles fan, but I'm not spending a dime to watch a game beyond what I already pay on cable. I'm really surprised the game isn't on a major channel.

Thanks, Chriso2M. So they lose a viewer in me. I'm sure they've done the math and this works for them, but I'm not going to pay extra to watch an NFL game even though I am an Eagles fan.

Always been hard to be an Eagles fan. Believe me, I've been there for many, many years.:(

Maybe your cable company did you a favor.

Sanchez ain't the answer.

nfln isn't really getting that much per subscriber to add the channel but the contracts with major cable operators have set # of games required to be on the channel or contract voids

How do you normally watch the Eagles games each week since they aren't always on local TV? It's not like your team is on regular tv each week.

I don't watch them every week. But they are on a lot. In Albany, I saw 10 or 11 games this year.

Me too. Time Warner near Syracuse and I get NFL Network as a part of my normal package...

Good luck watching the game. Go Eagles!!

Um. Thanks for the encouragement --a little late though.

Sorry for not giving you an update earlier -- but if you never want to miss a game again, just follow these steps:

1 - Download and install a browser that has ad-block add-ons available (Chrome, Mozilla, etc)
2 - Download and install an ad-block program
3 - Go to one of the dozens of free streaming sports sites on the web. You can catch anything from third-tier Bundesliga games, cricket matches in India, and any NFL game live in near-HD.

If you want to try it out and can't get it to work, give me a shout.

When NFL network started they ran Saturday night games late in the season. One memorable one was the Patriots beating the Giants to clinch their 16-0 regular season. The Giants had their playoff spot locked up and played everyone even though they had nothing to play for. They played the Patriots tough and more importantly were not scared of them when they met in the Super Bowl a month later.

Didn't a bunch of politicians step in and help get the game moved to CBS? I remember watching it and I definitely didn't have NFL Network at the time.

Game was on CBS for me...I guess thats cause i live in the philly area. I had no idea this was a nfl network channel game for everyone else. Usually the NFL network games are on my abc channel when they are on NFL network and not CBS tho

Thank you, DeGrozz. I really am a Neanderthal in this stuff.
