I can't see how Schwartz stays. Rex calls the defensive shots. On the open market in cities like Pitt and Miami who are in the market for a DC. Of with all of the other head coaching jobs open they will be in the market for a DC...why would Schwartz stay since he was just passed over by Buffalo for the HC jobI don't hate it. This is obviously contingent on being able to sign an OC who can develop a QB and a GM who can find one. It would be a shame too of Schwartz doesn't stay either.
This also might sound crazy but I think Ryan is a players coach and in a city like Buffalo that doesn't hurt when trying to lure talent.
And with no first round pick and 2 brittle RB's Rex is going to have to rebuild that offense. He is gonna want to grind out wins on the ground and win with defense and for that you need a QB who isn't a turnover machine and 2 work-horse RB's. He has none of that. The RB's you can find, the QB...good luck unless you want a Brian Hoyer or Jay Cutler and while an upgrade you aren't making playoff runs with either at this stage in the game.Rex could do well in buffalo, but he was tailor made to fix the Falcons. In buffalo he will have the same problems as in NY, no QB and limited offense.
I believe Schwartz has to stay as he is locked into a contract for 1-2 more years. Ryan would have to let him go before he would be able to leave. Unless the Bills grant him permission to leave which they aren't going to do unless it is for an HC job.I can't see how Schwartz stays. Rex calls the defensive shots. Assistants are let out of their contracts all the time. NOT a big deal at all. It's common place in the NFL. When a new head coach comes in almost always the assistants are let go to pursue other jobs. And Rex won't want a guy on his staff who doesn't want to be there who might undermine him. Especially since the players went public in how they wanted Scwhartz. Rex needs Schwartz gone to win over that locker-roomI believe Schwartz has to stay as he is locked into a contract for 1-2 more years. Ryan would have to let him go before he would be able to leave. Alsacs said:Rex over Reich What? I mean you guys already had your defensive guy on staff. Rex Ryan needs corners for his defense to work. I mean this decision is all about the buzz of hiring Rex. Whom I believe is overrated as a HC because do his press conference antics and giving beat reporters juicy quotes. Buffalo made the splash hire for press attention. Rex won't win 9 games next year.
One of RGIII or Cousins gets dealtNo one was going to win 9 games next year, no QB.
One of RGIII or Cousins gets dealt
Hoyer will be a FA
Mark Sanchez, Sam Bradford will be available
Jay Cutler could be had.
Buffalo could give more money to Orton to get him to "unretire"
Hiring Rex Ryan oozes we want media splash and attention from his PCs. Rex is not a great HC because he neglects the offensive side of the ball.
they were guaranteed 1 anyway on a Thursday and play nfc east next year so a mnf isn't out of the questionWell. If nothing else I believe the Bills will be getting a prime time game or two this year...

The #Bills have "every intention" of keeping DC Jim Schwartz, just told by high-ranking team source.
And that's why the Rams haven't been to the playoffs in god knows how long. Stupid decisionsSupposedly the rams are planning to keep Bradford despite the injury woes.
