Our most meaningful November game since…

I’d sat vs Lville in ‘12 to get to .500 (they were undefeated 10th) and then at Missouri.

If you are talking real stakes playing Miami for the BE title in 2001.

Going to Missouri in 2012 and getting that comeback win - #6 for the season - was huge.
Alec Lemon waltzing into the end zone with less than a minute left was just incredible.

When???
It wasn’t “our” stakes but our win over ND in “03 was part of an unlikely chain of events that vaulted LSU into the national title game and what turned into Saban’s first title. I remember getting high fives from lsu fans at the sec championship game in my syracuse jacket.

Alec Lemon is still running wiiiide open thru the Mizzou secondary.

I was there for that along with 32 other Syracuse fans that game. Cold night game, their stadium was under renovation and their students weren't on campus.

Oh the glory days when Doug Marrone had his dream job!

(on to Arrowhead the next day to watch the Bengals and when the Chiefs fans were flying a banner to fire Scott Pioli former Cuse grad assistant)

This game Saturday is absolutely massive for the trajectory of the program.

We’ve got a chance to show the college football world that Fran Brown is here and he is serious.

How anyone can not want to be in the Dome on Saturday is beyond me.

LETS GO ORANGE!

I have a nephew driving from Ottawa for this one. I warned him about the lake effect between Watertown and Syracuse on Friday. He said he didn’t care. He “needed “ to be here!

If we are talking about Dome games only meaningful for SU, then it is Pitt in 2021.

If we are talking about Dome games where it was meaningful for both teams, then it was Louisville in 2012.

If we are talking about Dome games with some national interest, then it was 1998 vs Miami.

So to me, I agree Miami is as big of a game we can have this season, for the season AND the change of the SU narrative out there. If we had not been steamrolled at Pitt, I think the dynamic would be slightly different but since we did, this is the chance to reset not only the central NY fanbase potentially but the larger narrative right before the transfer portal opens and early signing. A big win would benefit in many ways.

2018 vs ND @ Yankee Stadium (I’ve tried to forget that weekend though)
I remember being so psyched for that game. Stephen A. loved us and predicted we'd win..."I'm talking to you Chris Slayton!" Dungey was playing injured and got picked early and left the game. Tommy relieved Dungey and couldn't get anything going.

Don’t forget Gross chest bumping him

Biggest game since the Pitt game this year tbh. Which obvi did not end well.

But biggest November game probably since 2018, for sure.

If we win this game we have all sorts of momentum going into the off season. Hell we win this game we go to a very good bowl, we win that, then who knows What Fran can do in the off season. But I’m sure he’ll be landing some studs again lol
