Over/under 8.5 scholarship players next year

He's already stated he'd prefer to have 10 on his team than 12. And that we had too many last year.

Which begs the question -- why were sanctions as impactful as everyone thinks they were, with Boeheim not caring about anything after the top 5-6 anyway?

People are fooling themselves, big time.

The guy just keeps on winnin’. Another Sweet 16. At 76? I’ll take it.

Are you really saying that getting to the sweet 16 is lipstick on a pig? I refuse to believe that you are really saying that.
I am saying that these miracle runs as double-digit seeds are lipstick on a pig, yes.

It is glossing over the truth of where this program is in the landscape of college basketball.

I have said this previously, and probably a million times, but I'll say it again:

Syracuse University men's basketball should not have 7 straight seasons of double-digit losses, with the highest tournament seed being an 8 in that span. Ever. Period. End of discussion.

Blame sanctions if you wish. That's a flat-out excuse. Boeheim said himself he prefers to have 10 scholarship players. He was allowed to that throughout the sanction span. He was also able to get out of the coaches on the road because Buddy was playing in these tournaments.

It is a joke that apologists continue to use this as an excuse. We had a decent year this year, but it was obvious the talent on this roster was not going to be enough to even threaten at a national championship or a Top 4-5 NCAA seed. Should that not be the expectation? And not being on the bubble each year?

I think the only hope of adding a transfer guard is if they were a former player on Buddy or Joe's AAU teams and are completely comfortable with a backup/towel boy roll.

JB is going to ride or die with that backcourt duo for a combined 79 minutes per game next year. Ride or die...but more likely die.

i love the "other teams have issues too! Look at team X with 4 guys in the portal!"

Who cares if Florida has guys in the portal? I'll be thrilled next season watching Kadary on another team knowing that a team in the SEC isn't good either

Sweet 16 and probably another Top 25 ranking. But that doesn't matter?

Are you ever happy?

Kansas, Louisville and Arizona are about to find out what it's like to have to recruit with sanctions.

JB's dream is to get the roster down to 6 scholarship players so he's immune to the critics' calls for substitutions and better roster management

PG - Joe 39.2mpg
SG - Buddy 39.2mpg
SF - Benny 39.2mpg
PF - Jimmy Jr 39.2mpg
C - Jesse - 39.2mpg
6th man - Chaz Owens - 1 mpg

I feel like its a joke, but in all honestly that's the most likely starting lineup next season.

We haven't been ranked in the Final Top 25 Poll since 2014. So I don't understand your "another" qualifier.

Sweet 16 was great -- but that was the ceiling.

We are in year 7 of mediocrity.

We were #26 in the final poll in 2018. Also don't forget that #10 ranking in 2016, when when we made the Final Four. Awful.

“Another” as in we’ve been ranked many, many times in the Top 25 final poll.
