Pat Forde Article on SI

Seems to be the beginning of a mob forming, which is not good.

Wether or not people like Pat Forde, there's little criticism in the article that isn't true.

This is like a Greek tragedy.
Boeheim is destroying his own legacy.
He built the Orange into one of the top programs in the country and now they have descended to irrelevance.

And now that it's out there...this narrative will become standard.
The Greek chorus.

You know how Pitino's teams get away with fouling because they start the game fouling right away and the refs just decide they don't want to blow the whistle all game long, so they let the contact go?

This forum is basically that now.

To me this is the damning part that I hate as a GRADUATE of Syracuse University.

That makes the university look completely feckless when a writer nukes the actual management of the entire operation starting with the Chancellor. We look SEC-ish when this starts to form.

And you wonder why our ranking, nationally speaking, is in the toilet. The school has incompetence if it allows for this narrative to prevail.
Except in the sec they wouldnt tolerate these results.
Lesson learned in this, don't build statues or name courts/fields of those still working. It borders on idol worship.

Barstool has been pumping out a bunch on JBs antics. I know there's a lot of older crowd on here who don't give any weight to barstool, but they are trendy and in with the younger crowd. Have been for a while. Bigger impact imo than say CBS sports or something.
There’s a slight chance our recruiting targets bump into a Barstool piece. That’s concerning.

True... but JB needs to get a teddy bear national interview now where he smiles, talks softly and explains why he misspoke and was misunderstood...

Who will do it for him? He's burned so many bridges.

Bilas would have been the likely go-to until the public spat they had about Jalen Johnson 2 years ago which ended with Boehem claiming not only was he right, but he was smarter than Bilas.

Maybe Tirico literally takes one for the team and gives him a platform for this??
Rather than giving JB a soft landing spot, I'd prefer Tirico, Sean McDonough, Adam Schein, all trusted JB allies, convince him to do the right thing and retire. Those guys are smart, they must be thinking what we're all thinking.

Low hanging fruit. Won’t be the first or last article capitalizing on this. Strike while the clicks are hot!
Low hanging fruit, yet JB does it to himself by running off at the mouth ha.

Pitt Beat Writer Take:

Ouch.

"I don’t know a single person who is a Syracuse fan who believes Boeheim is still the best man for the job. And to take that one step further, most not only think it is time to move on from Boeheim, they are hoping the succession plan doesn’t include one of his disciples like Gerry McNamara or Mike Hopkins."

He’s an embarrassment at this point and his whining about teams being “bought” shows just how far the game has passed him. He needs to be fired.
Not sure how this plays out where we can hire someone else without the focus being on JB.

I mean its probably a foregone conclusion that anyone we offer the job that is anyone good will have an offer from Louisville they are going to be coach shopping. Its gonna be tough to not have JB sabotague an external hire.

Hes 78 you can't really 'fire' anyone that age they'll just say they retired anyway. If the AD needs to tell him hes safe so we don't get anymore crazy comments do that then.
