Pathetic Press Conference From Shafer

You want him talking about the type of injuries 18-23 year old kids suffer? I know as a parent I would be pissed off. He answered all of the other questions. He wanted to focus on the accomplishment these kids made today by going 3-0. I was happy to hear Ithaca won!

No, but his press conference was embarrassing. I was waiting for an Isis comment at some point. He doesn't have to talk about the injuries, but he can talk about the game and not be a jerk. He hasn't earned the right to be a jerk, he hasn't won enough. He ain't Saban or Meyer!

You can't be serious. He didn't answer any of the questions that needed to be asked because he had the chickens**t reporters so intimidated those questions never got asked.

Then they didn't do there job correctly, any good reporter would still ask and hold him to an answer. I am serious, you are telling me you would be okay with someone going in depth about your sons/daughters injury?

Nobody is talking about the injuries but you

He doesn't have to go into detail or even talk about the injuries, nobody is arguing with you about that. But he doesn't have to act like an ass clown and piss all over the reporters either WHEN THEY ASK NON-INJURY RELATED QUESTIONS. Like I said, he hasn't earned that right

2nd question was about the injury, so my bad for talking about it. So you are calling him an "ass clown" because he wanted to talk about being 3-0? Classy

BS. I've watched near every press conference and they are not afraid to ask questions.

What are you talking about? No one is suggesting he needed to talk about any injuries. I mean at some point if this injury trend continues someone might want to ask him about whether he specifically recruits kids whose bodies seem to be made out of glass or whether there are failures in nutritional or training methods but the original post had nothing to do with questions about injuries. Did you watch the game? Do you think there aren't a multitude of questions to ask the head coach about their approach and decision making>

He can deflect a question without being a jerk. Whatever, you are missing the point.. He can talk about being 3-0 all day, but his tone is the issue.

And they'll be asked and he'll answer them. He's got like 5 media availabilities.

Tone was a bit off I give you that. He could have handled it a bit better, what I saw was a coach that was happy for his players and wanted to make sure where the focus was at.

Shafer can deflect and say "scoreboard" all he wants at 3-0. He just better remember that next week after we play LSU.

I did watch the game. They did ask the question about the timeout with 15 seconds left, they did ask the question about using multiple QB's, and a few other good question. Which makes the post you started just odd.

Who gives a crap about pressers? Pathetic is what this thread is.

I don't have a dog in this one, but I do wonder if Coyle "gives a crap" about the pressers. Coach speak is a great tool, so is "I'm not going to comment on that." No need to lecture the room to not ask any negative questions. Let em ask whatever they want, and then choose not to give a real answer.

Look, maybe the guy was pissed that a douchebag CMU player may have knocked out our best shot at a good season. With the season we had last year and losing Hunt the way we did, I think he's just as frustrated as the rest of us when THE key player gets knocked out on a fluke/unnecessary hit. When I saw the play, I wanted to ring that CMU guy's neck.

I want to know the status of Dungey as much as everyone else...but I REALLY want to know why the time out when the clock is ticking and they have zero timeouts. It appears we would have had a better chance in regulation had he not called it. Did anyone ask about that call specifically, and did he dodge it? If so, that's a bit disappointing.

Maybe coach is tired of the crap the local media gives the program during game week?

Maybe he does not respect the local JV trolls in the media?

They did ask about the timeout. He stated that he wanted to make sure the defense was relaxed and ready for the play.

The presser was a trainwreck, he said we are 3-0 about 10 times. We get it. He said we haven't done that in 24 years 2 or 3 times as well. Well Coach, we haven't had 3 games to start that easy in 24 years either.

He was a nervous wreck. He had no confidence and seemed very worried. Just like us fans. Not sure if this is good or bad.

2000
First three teams we played where Buffalo, Cincinnati, and ECU laid a nice egg and started 1-2. Some of the late 90's schedules had two poor to average team and one ranked team we usually where ahead of in the rankings.
Anyway 3-0!
