Tape is listed at 6’10 and 232 pounds.

Bol Ajak might also be 230 pounds next season. It would be awesome to have some agile, big bodies to roll out there against teams with size and strength.

I bet if you looked at Su’s plus minus when Sidibe is not in foul trouble vs when he is in foul trouble, you would see a vast difference.

He is the only center on the team right now. Marek does a decent job filling in but he is a lot better at forward than center.

Getting Tape would make a big difference for this team.

Got in touch with Tape and he declined to comment on anything. Based on what I've heard elsewhere, I think the plans on flipping to SU could be a little premature/speculation right now. An educated guess likely puts him going to Syracuse, but it's not quite there yet. Wouldn't be surprised if something comes together quickly, though.

they would be a fantastic duo, but Sidibe has the higher ceiling while Tape might be more consistent. If Sidibe stays out of foul trouble he can be fantastic

Advanced metrics are useful in any sport but I do not value them nearly as much in basketball as in baseball. Baseball stats are based primarily on individual play at the plate, mound, or field. Basketball is much more a team game where player outcomes are heavily affected by coach, scheme, and surrounding talent.

Sidibe's Offensive Rating of 122.9 is better than Tape's 112.9. But Bourama played for a team that ranked 26th in the NCAA in offensive rating (113.04). Pat played (in 2018-19) for a team that ranked 233rd (99.5). If you put both centers under the same system, coach, and team, Tape may perform better. If people go back and look at Page 1 of this thread, you can see a highlight video where Tape has a back-to-the-basket game and abilities in the paint we haven't seen since Rakeem Christmas left.

Bottom line, it doesn't even matter. Having two quality centers is a good thing. And we still have enough scholarships to add the scoring wing and fourth guard everyone wants. And Tape doesn't tie up a future scholarship. I can't understand any reason why someone wouldn't be happy for him to sign here.

i would say that if he in fact is announcing tomorrow it would be a surprise if it isn’t us. Too much smoke in too short of a time frame.

I believe he only visited us and Maryland. And if that tweet was indeed a Maryland guy then that bodes well for us
