I'm cautiously optimistic that he's going to surprise a lot of people and contribute more than expected from day 1. He has the physical tools already to make an impact, its just a matter of what Francis said in him being consistent and keep developing his skills.

Unfortunately Brewster lost in the finals in the National Prep Championship against Northfield Mount Hermon, who they ended up playing for a 4th time and had to play the semi's and finals on the same day yesterday. Still a good season for Buss and The Hammer overall regardless.

NERR provided the following recap http://www.newenglandrecruitingreport.com/news/article/2997/NMH-Wins-National-Prep-Championship.php

"Given the two hard fought and dramatic wins, and the recent dominance of Brewster Academy, NMH came into Wednesday night’s final as a definite underdog. Nevertheless, they came out with a head of steam from the tip as Mike Fleming drilled a three-pointer on the opening possession of the game and they went on a 13-5 run to start the game.

Incredibly, they would hold that lead for all 40 minutes, going into halftime with an 8 point advantage, and surviving several runs from an explosive Brewster line-up, to earn a 78-73 win.

Josh Hearlihy played some of his best basketball of the tournament in the first half, scoring 14 of his 16 points before intermission, while Fleming also had his best game of the tournament, finishing with 13 points.

With Zena Edosomwan, who had carried the team throughout long sports of the quarter and semifinals, doing his best to hold Elijah Macon in check, Sam Donahue stepped up in the second half, knocking down a pair of crucial three-pointers while Pete Miller and Skyler White also made valuable contributions down the stretch.

Ultimately though, MVP honors went to Anthony Dallier, who finished with 22 points by making a variety of clutch shots while also handling quite a bit of the ball-handling responsibilities.
Macon led Brewster with 20 while Ron Patterson had 15. Montez Harrison, Chris McCullough, and Jared Terrell each scored 8.

The loss ended what had been another incredible season for Brewster Academy, as they went on to score their most recent NEPSAC championship, and had won 18 straight games dating back to mid-January coming into Wednesday’s final.

The national championship is the first for Northfield Mount Hermon, whose best previous result came in 2010 when they made a run to the finals, and comes just one season after they claimed their first NEPSAC title to cap the 2011-2012 season.

Northfield Mount Hermon and Brewster Academy have now each won both a NEPSAC and national championship in the last two years."

Great run by Buss and Hammer. That a lot of these games were streaming, it was nice to see them both play well.

Love his shooting confidence like James he knows his jumper is going in.

Hes got fast lateral speed and loves to slide left before pulling up. He really needs to work hard on doing that going right it will open up his driving game even more.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him average 7 or more shots per game for us next year. Huge Ceiling.

Got to wonder if IU wishes they had him against us. Would have given them a little more height at the guard spot and better defense.

Agree Ron has a long way to go with his skills.
He is never going to break anyone down with superior dribbling skill in college. If he doesn't have the superior blow by speed and has a rough jumper from the perimeter the first few years he could have the same problem brandon did.

Learning how to back down his man while changing direction from the permiter could really help him. He seems to have a nice midrange jumper to take advantage of a backdown fadeaway. He should watch some of Billy Edelin Backdown. He also needs alot of work finishing with his left big time.

I imagine he will be forcing alot early on but will knock some down. As a guy who likes to speed it up he should show some good passing skills.

Patterson sort of reminds me of Paul Harris only Patterson has a much better skill set.
