No. we were the leader right after his visit. But we just couldn't close the deal.

Really? I didn't get that feeling at all. We may have been leader when he was still here in Rochester. Then moved down to Indiana and ND became favorite. Then Michigan State was favorite. The Duke was favorite. And now Washington. Seems like every team has been his favorite but us. Hopefully they were all wrong and he chooses usm

So he leaves behind his family, friends, teammates, fans, local legacy, all for 1 guy- Hop?
And Washington is that good?
Playing against the best competition?
In the best league?
He loves purple?
My common sense says no and I just don’t see the advantages
I feel same way, I think he stays home and commits to Syracuse!!!

Already left all those folks behind. He only comes here if he wants to come home for a year.

Aww man, I really hope he doesn't choose Southern Miss.

I dont have twitter, but I creeped on Stewart's page the other night. He had a bunch of basketball/NBA stuff retweeted recently. No retweets of anything regarding any other school in a while. Just the Girard tweet after duke game, a CNY article about local kids, and his commitment announcement. Just had a funny feeling.

No inside knowledge on this one, but I don't think he ends up here.

Some kids just want to get away from home and try something new. I cannot say I blame them.

Girard relationship is special as is the relationship with Zay and the coaches/program.

I have zero inside knowledge either, but this logic seems to make more sense for a football player who needs to spend 3 years somewhere, not so much for a surefire NBA guy who will be visiting a different city, every night, after one year of college.

The last point of my tantrum, is National exposure. I lived in San Jose 30 years and the local bars would start to fill at 10 am and we watched games all day and concluded the east coast games by 9 pm. Now living back in Jersey I miss most west coast stuff cause I’m tired and want to sleep. Just saying. K I’m done

Random question, what are rules on boosters contact with recruits etc via social media...

Are they allowed to tag kids in things etc?

This has been an important part of our pitch.

Yes, I would hope so.

Plus, he’s already been away from home at school for the past 1.5 years, and will have another decade + (if he’s lucky & good) away from home playing Pro ball.

He may not get to be this near home & able to play in front of family & friends ever again.

That he’s also buddies (pun intended) with several current players can’t hurt either.
