Watts would start, I assume it would be a George, Starling, Kingz, Watts, Freeman starting lineup. To be honest, I think it would impact Kyle’s minutes more than White’s or Freeman’s or Kingz’s. Watts did average almost 7 boards a game last year and is a great passer so theoretically could fit multiple positions, especially if we want to go small ball

So… if we are still pursuing top 100 portal prospects. I’m going to say it’s an indicator that we still got a lot of cash to spend. I think also between Freeman and White, they feel they have enough interior scoring threats, which is why they are really not targeting any high profile bigs that we know of.

He also has some physicality. He would add a different dynamic to the roster. I doubt he would come cheap.
 
Wow, get Deng AND Watts. Obviously it is highly doubtful they would both come, considering playing time. But, what a roster that would be. We could come at other teams in waves. Nobody would play more than 25 minutes, nor should they.

How about some NIL funding, that coach has retired and Red is the one who is running the ship, I think he is doing well, we won 20 games 2 years ago, first tlme in a decade no? Appreciate your confidence in the haul and everyone who stood up to meet NIL demand big and small. Different time today.

I'd love to see what a line up of George, Starling, Watts, Deng, and Freeman could do on offense.

I'm picturing Freeman taking slow centers off the bounce, Watts posting up tiny small forwards. 5 out and Starling driving to the basket knowing no double team is coming.

It would be tons of fun to watch.

I really think the staff is higher on William Kyle than many people on this board are. He was their first get out of the portal, clearly they wanted to get this guy locked down. As much as some people want to see Freeman as a small ball 5, I think Kyle will be given every opportunity to start at the 5 spot. To me the opening day lineup is set George, Starling, Kingz, Freeman, Kyle

LeJuan Watts may be Plan A. There have been contact presumably (based on Alex Kline’s Instagram activity) and Syracuse has kept the portal interest mostly under the radar. To be fair, I have no inside information

Watts is 6-6 vs. 6-9 for Deng, but Watts had very solid rebounding numbers, and weighs over 230. A "Houston type" of player is how I guess they are looking at him. He seems pretty similar to Kingz, that would be my concern.

Sure I can appreciate he won 20 games a couple years ago. But I aLao can’t forget the regression we had this year and had the WORST season in school history in over 50 years. Both can be true. I think this current roster would beat the team we had 2 years ago that won 20 games. But Red’s coaching makes me very nervous

Correct, but if we are "nit" picking, his 1st year was the best win % in a decade excluding covid year.

And yes it was only because we made the tournament JBs year and went 0-1 bringing the % down.
You started the "nit" picking & I finished it.
Hopefully, we burst the bubble this year and there is no "nit" picking.

I’m sorry, the nit pick is it was a better season BECAUSE we didn’t make the tournament? Weird stance.
