Rashaun Agee, a power forward from USC, might be a guy to keep an eye on, as he recently was followed by Alex Kline, and he then followed Alex Kline back. Could this be related to any previous interest in Desmond Claude? A package deal? Either way, even just by himself, he seems to have some really nice stats from last year at USC.

If you double that for 40 minutes(which I realize, he won't be playing those minutes anywhere, just to show his efficiency) he would average 19pts, 9 reb, 2 assists, 1.6 blocks, 1.4 steals, all while shooting 39% from 3pt and 55% from field. His Evan Miya BPR is 3.19, which would be second best(obviously not counting freshman), to Nate Kingz. He did all this vs Big Ten level competition. He also like a number of our players worked his way up from jr college/no division 1 offers to major conference contributor. I believe he would have at least 1 year of eligibility remaining.

Here are his highlights:

Great catch…the following between the two definitely mean something…will see how it plays out

Give me Agee over Bristow if that’s the choices…
If the choice was there, totally agree. The issue is that Agee’s interest is based on the mutual follow between him and Kline. Bristow has been linked to Syracuse via reports and mutually follows more of the staff (Englestad, Kline) so it would seem the mutual interest is at a greater level for Bristow and Syracuse.

Ehhh tbh we could get them both. Agee is more of a 4/5 combo. Undersized for a center but he’s a brut and a strong dude. He would bring something a little different than the other 2 centers we have already.

Bristow is more of a 3/4. Can handle a little, can stay out on the perimeter some and he’s more of a finesse guy. Bristow also would have 3 years here. Neither would get huge minutes here next year. But Bristow is someone you look at in 2 years and try to get him as a major contributor by then. Because he has the size and length to play at this level. Just needs to fill into his body, work on his coordination, technique and fluidness.

Absolutely both would be great if we could sell it. Agee averaging basically a double double at bowling green even if his numbers leveled out at USC is enticing. Seems athletic enough being a bigger dude as well and came in at almost a block per game.

It's actually real smart that we didn't try to recruit these guys from Cali or down south when there was snow on the ground a week ago in CNY :).
Agee is from Chicago. ;)

Is he even eligible. Would be his seventh season. Redshirted, played one year at JC, I think maybe a medical redshirt another year.

Some of these paths are wild.

JUCO years don't count anymore, neither do redshirt or medical redshirt years so I believe he would still have 1 year of eligibility remaining under current rules.

If you keep in mind he only played 20 minutes a game at USC vs 27.5 at Bowling Green. His numbers were mostly same per minute or higher in a much tougher league. Rebounds per minute were slightly down, but assists, blocks, steals and three point percentage were all at a same or higher rate per minute.

Any relation to Arthur Agee from Hoop Dreams?
This was my first thought...ever. It hurt a little bit, but now that I've used my brain, I may do it again someday.

I think he would be an excellent addition, probably a sixth starter type. Would definitely move into our PF/C rotation and has a well rounded skill set that would be a nice complement to what we already have. Would guess that he may be looking for an even more substantial/featured role?

If we are able to get Agee, the metrics would actually say this is our best portal addition (ranked 20 spots higher than George on Evan Miya). I wonder if that means our starting lineup would be George, Starling, Kingz, Agee and Freeman?
Probably not much. He’s not a point guard nor a 3 point expert, so I think George and Kingz still start.
