I’m thinking that is an adjustment that they’ve made intentionally. Tons of sit routes with big strong receivers. We don’t seem to have a guy who can consistently take the top off, and it’s impressive to see how Nixon and McCord have adapted

State blitzed heavy last night. The line did a good enough job (2 sacks) and McCords quick decisions obviously help. I think it’s a little bit of both. But this line is much better than last year.

I think that is undoubtedly true.

But it also needs to be pointed out that the OL is doing a better job at pass protection than we've seen in recent years, and a little bit of time / clean pocket is all McCord needs. So while the OL hasn't been more than "average" relatively speaking, they've been OK.

Ilaoa played 20 snaps. He was average for run blocking and failed for pass blocking.

I know Wohlabaugh played a little but they don’t have him listed. I only remember one series then I thought he got dinged up.

He’s a pretty damn good punter when he doesn’t have three guys chasing him/blocking his punts!

No other quarterback has completed more downfield throws than McCord. The list of those close to McCord are considered some of the country’s best quarterbacks.

Kind of destroys the narrative that we don't throw downfield enough or we aren't good at it, as has been stated in a couple other threads.

Tackling has been terrible. Dead last. Ugh. I don't see how our pass rush is 6th. That doesn't seem correct to me. I'm sure most if it is because we often rush just 3 but still doesn't seem like it should be that high to me.
