Hey I try to be an optimist. I really do. But being wrong so many seasons in a row has worn me down.

I hope I'm bumping this post and laughing at myself next March, but this doesn't feel much different than our pickups the last few seasons.

Same feelings here, everyone hypes up every addition every year, but the reality of it is, we haven’t been to the tournament since 2021, eventually this board has to take a look in the mirror calling every addition “underrated” every single year.

On paper should be taken with a grain of salt.

We had a much more talented roster last year compared to previous years.

… and couldn’t do jack with it outside of almost beating Houston…

This will come down to how hard the PLAYERS play on defense and how well Gerry can coach them up.

Let’s not overthink this.

Because all the spots on the roster that actually log minutes are almost done. You play what, 8 or so players, maybe 9, and the other 4-6 players on the roster will not play much, so the only spot left to really get big minutes is maybe starting center. You are not getting top-shelf quality game-changing players coming to split time and be backups.

I may be in the minority but with where the current roster stands they still need three guys. Impactful players at the PG and C position and a wing who’s an excellent shooter. Probably a backup 4 too(Folefac?).

Kadary was much more of an offensive threat. This guy put up less than 10 a game in a non-P5 conference..

Being disappointed that the most important position on the team, and one we thought we were big game hunting on turns out to be a PG on his 4th team in 4 years shooting 31% from 3 isn’t a meltdown imo.

Kadary only put up 10 a game his jr year at Seton Hall.

His stroke looks good. He’s obviously excellent on defense and looks like a good penetrator and passer. He will just need to be more aggressive trying to score the ball. Right now we have three elite defensive players in Dual, Doty and White. Unfortunately, scoring 60 points against a really good team will be difficult. This perimeter shooting won’t give a low big man much room to operate, even if we find a good center. You can plug and play some shooters, but offensively this current group scares the heck out of me. I just saw a video with Hurley and he says he’s stopped recruiting players who aren’t 1000 point scorers. He says you have to be able to score to beat good teams.

They had two tremendous scoring guards ahead of him. He was the third option. He locked up the other teams best player every game.

If I’m being honest, I don’t want my pg scoring 15-20 a game.

It’s a nice bonus but I’d much rather him take care of the ball and play defense.

The scorers imo should be SG, SF, PF as your main scoring threats.

Which should be getting accurate clean passes FROM the PG.
