Class of 2018 PG Jalen Carey (NY/NJ) SIGNED WITH SYRACUSE

Hope that we are not putting all our eggs in one basket with this kid. We better cast a wide net, don’t want a repeat of the green bs. We need a PG who can ball right now

Nice. He will see that dump, and cross them off the list. Carey isn't playing in the AAC, in that HS gym.

Also, yes, we have other options out there. This won't be Quade.

We also have HW. Hopefully a mature Senior FH. We aren't doomed at PG. I love Carey though, and really want him here for a year or two, before HW is completely ready. Hopefully he realizes that the Cuse pumps guards into the league, and Bill Self doesn't.

Not worried about UCon. They are circling the drain. Nice quick road trip for Jalen.

"He's a strong, creative and extremely athletic guard who produced big numbers regularly against one of the more grueling schedules in New Jersey. Carey averaged 21,4 points a game, which included a 31-point effort in a loss to St. Anthony in the North Jersey, Non-Public B quarterfinals. Among Carey's 25 offers are Kanas, Syracuse, UConn, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Indiana and Notre Dame."

FFF Kansas

With Bazely on board now this is the time to make a BIG push for a PG. Will this entice Carey? Sometimes you just need that first domino to fall. Reel him in, or Duke. Let's Go!

In your opinion, does Syracuse have a legit shot at landing Carey over Kansas?
Absolutely we are in it. If we can avoid him stalling for 6 months that'd be great. With all deference to iommi I think he goes much sooner, he has the offers he wants

That is the expectation. Griff and Red will show their chops with 17, 18, 19. Griff comes in with Jones in hand. JB isn't buying so he helps Red close on Thorpe and gets us Bazley. Red has been killing it from Slovakia to Jersey.
I know we're getting out there but I sometimes wonder if Red might be the HCIW...

It's early to say but I wouldn't be against it. Age wise it's a much better fit long term than Hop.

Autry, born in 1972, is 2 years younger than Hopkins.

Not sure age makes any difference whatsoever when comparing the two coaches and their potential for long term success.
