In dash we trust…that will be all
That’s the one. I missed It when it was posted earlier. This one?
Class of 2022 - PG Judah Mintz (DC / Oak Hill) COMMITTED/SIGNED TO SYRACUSE
I read these posts from you and others, and wonder how close we actually were. Couldn't have been too far, given how small Manley is/was. Hi Neighbor! :) I grew up a sheltered Catholic boy. Manley is the first place I heard people swear in public. I’m talking about a whole crowd...syracusefan.com
Uhhh yeah they didn’t tell me anything ! Lol I had some choice words after I found that (sarcastic font)Wow. The staff knew he was coming for almost 3 weeks. The way this thread developed I would have never guessed that he had already told them. Kudos to the staff for keeping it a secret.
One of my favorite "explanations" as to how that worked.Orange shirt? I thought everything was black, white or gray back then.
About that mid-range game in this video. Wow. What great body control and notice how he gets squared to the basket every single time he gets bodied or put out of position. Impressive.
Wow. His first step and his ability to get his defender to bite on his fakes are really impressive without being flashy. Old school but gets it done effortlessly. He is just what we need.
Wow, it's been a long time since I have watched a whole ten minute highlight reel.
Thinking of switching mine to yowsah but just too lazy. I'll do it later!Wow, it's been a long time since I have watched a whole ten minute highlight reel.
A few things I didn't already know.
1) Mintz seems to have elite foot speed. I was shocked at how he left opposing guards behind while leaking out. He should be a wide receiver. "If you're even, he's leaving."
2) Mintz has really good defensive instincts. He was able to anticipate passes or hand offs a few times to get a steal or create one for a teammate.
Between points one and two, we might have an exciting change of floor game again.
3) Mintz is incredibly crafty with the ball. He just seems to know where to go so he can get his shot off. I suspect he'll be one of those guys where you don't feel like he did a lot, but you look up and he'll have 20 from 8 midrange jumpers and a handful of free throws.
I'm really excited for him to play for us next year. He is a very good basketball player.
EDIT: Three consecutive posts that start with "wow" I swear I was still typing when the first two got posted!
kid is filthy, tee!!About that mid-range game in this video. Wow. What great body control and notice how he gets squared to the basket every single time he gets bodied or put out of position. Impressive.
He's a player. Brings a complete guard skill set with speed and athletism. Something we haven't had in a while. Mintz is exactly what we needed on this roster. Big get.
If he doesn’t end up at least top 50 in every ranking, it would be shocking. I would have him top 35.Still don’t know why he isn’t rated higher.

Yup. From the couple games I watched, the action has slowed to slo-mo for him.He is 34 or so in ESPN. Honestly I think he is legit top 20. His skillset is diverse and very mature for such a young player. Great patience and control.
Permission granted. Are we allowed to be excited about Mintz? Is he ranked high enough?
He's only "barely" inside the top 80 according to one recruiting service. I'm sad. (jk, Mintz is the real deal). I honestly think he should be inside the top 50 via all recruiting services, if not the top 25/30.Are we allowed to be excited about Mintz? Is he ranked high enough?
CG listing hurts the ranking, but I don’t believe there are many guards better in this class.Still don’t know why he isn’t rated higher.
He is so not a Pittsburgh player. What was he thinking?!
