YupIt's an excellent excuse to use when you miss out on a guy. We run it out there all the time.

He knows hes going to start. I don't know what else we can promise him. We aren't exactly competing against UNC and duke. Alarming.Promise the kid he will start. If he underperforms preseason, in the eyes of JB, he doesn't start. JB is likely gone after next year anyway.
I am ceratin if we all put somethngMany of them have small deals. Football and lax have done better. Like I told pwong, you need the people that are going to put up the money.
when was the last we won a highly competitive recruiting war? Forget the looking under the hood. Time for something new . More of the sameI hope/wish I am wrong...
We have the HOF coach...
We have GMAC...
We have a dome seating 33k for basketball...
We have a great practice facility...
We play in a strong conference with ample exposure...
And we're likely 2nd banana to Depaul, Wake and NC State!!??
I find it hard to believe. If so, it's past time to look under the hood...
Mintz appears ready to start next year. Copeland doesn’t really appear ready to play much.Honestly, and this is not a resignation at what appears to be an upcoming nut punch, I always saw Mintz as a luxury. If we get him, then what happens w/ Copeland, who I really like and hope sticks at the Cuse?
Is Mintz that much of a difference maker that he can change the trajectory of this class? Or is he basically a luxury at this point.

Inb4 “UNC was never really interested”Amnesia? Justin Taylor chose SU over UNC
I will add that I recall Dean saying on his pod that the Oregon people thought they had Quincy locked up too, but we were also very confident. Sometimes sources are wrong.Mintz visited on Feb 26.
I can't tell you word-for-word what he told the staff, but people close to the program were very pleased.
Obviously things change.
You can't predict baseball, and you can't predict teenage recruits.

Hey!His twitter likes aren’t revealing but the tik tok (trust me I hate it just as much as you old folks) that was posted here interestingly had a picture of him in his syracuse jersey while on the visit amongst a collage of pictures of him playing basletball “all grown up” with the caption “how bad did it hurt”.
That does all seem like Judah would prefer Syracuse. But, some have indicated that it is a similar situation to Chance Westry. Westry seemed to want Syracuse, but those around him wanted something else. Hopefully our coaches are still trying to sell he and his family on Syracuse.Long time lurker, first time poster because I have to put my observations out there. I started following this forum and recruiting in 2015 when I was in high school. I primarily get my info off of social media because I grew up with it and with a computer science degree that I focused heavily in social media and analytics, I’ve come to notice patterns over the years by trying to disseminate info from recruits social media accounts and posts. Two things I will say that I have noticed about Mintz that typically in the past has led to commitments. The first being that Mintz follows every Syracuse recruit on instagram. He follows a few recruits from the other schools but no where near the love he appears to have for our players and recruiting class. The other thing that is interesting is him wanting to play with Zion Cruz. They were together briefly at Oak Hill and it seems like there was something odd that happened that drove both Dior and Zion out of there. This is just a theory but there could’ve always been some bad blood between all of them since Mintz was going to get a lot of minutes. The other trends I’ve noticed as well with our recruiting class is that they are actively recruiting him hard on his posts and reposting his clips on their stories. I noticed Quadir had reposted his clip with an orange heart the other day, so even Quadir who people think feels threatened by Mintz coming and taking time from him is actively recruiting him and seems perfectly fine with staying if he commits. The only school that might have another reason for him going there is NC State, and that’s because his girlfriend goes to NC A&T but we all know how that goes. Last but certainly not least, I’ve seen recruits slip little hints here and there as to where they are going on social media. His twitter likes aren’t revealing but the tik tok (trust me I hate it just as much as you old folks) that was posted here interestingly had a picture of him in his syracuse jersey while on the visit amongst a collage of pictures of him playing basletball “all grown up” with the caption “how bad did it hurt”. Take what you will from that but to me its him saying “look at me back in the day and look at me now and where I’ve made it”. Also interesting no other school visit photos were posted in that video or any others. Again just observations of mine and I hate to try and inspire false hope if things are trending poorly but hey I wouldn’t be mad if it was right.
Nice first post….way to set the standard. No pressure but will be expecting the same moving forward. Why do we think GMac matters to these kids? He's a local hero and from a time when these kids were 4 years old.I hope/wish I am wrong...

We've come a long way from when I used to have to argue with people that social media mattered in recruiting.Long time lurker, first time poster because I have to put my observations out there. It’s a sad state of our program’s recruiting when we lose multiple recruits to DePaul.
Do we think the staff was a bit premature with their confidence?
We didn't lose Cruz to DePaul. We backed away a for a decent reasonIt’s a sad state of our program’s recruiting when we lose multiple recruits to DePaul.
You probably answered this earlier, but is the Mintz vibe similar to the Cruz vibe?We didn't lose Cruz to DePaul. We backed away a for a decent reason
No. Not at all. Because, there is no vibe for Mintz. It's silent. You probably answered this earlier, but is the Mintz vibe similar to the Cruz vibe?
This one will be interesting then. I hope our coaches are doing all they can.No. Not at all. Because, there is no vibe for Mintz. It's silent.
Don't get your hopes up. It doesn't really look good. This one will be interesting then. I hope our coaches are doing all they can.
