It will be interesting to see who Red brings in via the portal at PG. Right now Luke is the only true PG on the roster. I wonder if he continues to run JJ at PG given the logjam at SG.
I would rather roll with Fennel and JJ at the point and spend every penny on a shot blocking mobile big.
Pg: Luke JJ
SG JJ Choppa Cuffe
Wing: Anthony White
4: Freeman White
5 Transfer Freeman Petar
White plays 28 minutes in my 8 man rotation. Brings energy and defense off the bench. I expect Choppa to take a big step if he stays. Would be a solid bench.

We need to move away from JJ at the point. It’s a below average solution.

I guess it depends on how much Fennell plays. If it’s JJ at the 1 for 8-10 minutes a game then I am ok with it. Also if Choppa comes back he needs to be on the floor somewhere.

Yeah I don’t know where this narrative is coming from. Donnie loves cuse. This is made up stuff. If he goes to nba fine, but he’s not transferring
It makes no sense to me either

"Yeah, i liked Cuse enough to commit before, but now that Kiyan and Sadiq are coming, and they're offering more in NIL, and Carmelo will be around all the time, I have to get the *** on out of here."

the thing the staff didnt do well enough when evaluating transfer options was take size into account. we need pascal chukwu's out of the portal at the big.

What if after being here for a year he feels the staff is not up to the job, it’s ability to develop him, and will not be able to put together a winning and competitive season? If you were his parent or advisor would those thoughts not be on your mind?

Haters are simply just going to hate no matter what it’s it’s not like staying in the zone for six years too long completely the opposite however very similar no matter what some people will not be able to see what has transpired and that certainly does not mean that coach Red is going to unequivocally succeed I trust he will

He's known the staff for years if he thought that he never would have committed

The lack of respect some “fans” have for the program is amazing. Always anticipating the worst outcome from everything. I honestly don’t know why folks with that outlook even follow sports. It must be emotionally draining. Imaging being a person that upon hearing good news automatically internalizes it into all the negative things that could happen has a result.

Interesting quote by Boeheim:

“I think they have two really good freshmen, two other guys that are pretty good,” Boeheim said. Link: Jim Boeheim asks for patience with Adrian Autry: ‘You have to allow coaches to grow into the job’

Based on guesswork -- He's saying Sadiq and Kiyan and really good, and Womack and Fennell are pretty good? I think a lot of people are counting on Fennell. I don't know if he's really good or not, but my strong preference is to spend big money on a starting PG from the portal. I strongly prefer not to rely on a freshman PG unless there's zero doubt he's elite. If Boeheim includes Fennell in the "pretty good" column and not the "really good" column, then I'm guessing Red's not penciling him in as starter. All speculation by me.

Most people want the program back where it belongs back in 2014 when we didn't worry whether we got into the tournament but whether we were a 1-5 seed.
People are tired of the end of JB'S time here, when he didn't put the effort in to recruit and turn the program over in good shape to the next guy.
We need to get to being a top 15 team and get the respect this program deserves.
The fans have been much better then the team and coaches for the last ten years.
It's time for the University to get their act together.

I hate to spend other people’s money, but there must be big donors who backed Red. It would be nice if they brought big portal bucks for this offseason.
We obviously need a big and an experienced, capable PG. Another Jayre Davis would be a great addition.
After that, pieces as fillers.

Hope they find some big donors willing to spend the money.

Umm, a center maybe?

Exactly, some people are literally just afflicted with massive negativity. It honestly pervades this board. I use to read Syracuse.com forums like 20 years ago, in school. It was toxic. I said see ya long ago. I was so happy to find this board. It is growing difficult. Having a little bit of knowledge, positivity about Syracuse University and its sports teams is so much fun. I am definitely a Syracuse Homer, I was there and it changed my life. So many good people and coaches have come through. Win lose or draw, big picture it has been so so amazing. Forever grateful, all I have to do is think about it.

I was very pro-Red going into this season, ignored a lot of the warts with Carlos/Eddie/Bell, and thought we could be decent this year. It's not "haters are going to hate". It's "this program is in freefall and might never recover".

Freefall wouldn't include improving in two of the last three years. That being said, we're not where we used to be and this team is not that enjoyable to watch. It's why I put the Basketball Forum on ignore.
