It's hard to measure the competition, but it looks like he can play. If he shoots like that, he will force his way onto the floor

If he shoots like that he'll be on the floor all the time!

This footage is from Saturday. According to his Eurobasket page he was 9-17 overall and 5-8 from 3.

Very impressed by the drives. These are decent sized guys he's playing against, too.

His nickname should be snake. Lots of venom in his shots and I love the way he slithers to the rim !!!!

And we all know Australia is famous for its venomous snakes.

Kurt Russell Eye Patch GIF by Studiocanal UK

Needs an eye patch before we call him that.

Until then he’s just Plissken, mate.

He’s got a little Andy Rautins in his game.

He's bigger driving the lane. His ceiling is a Chris Mullin / Dan Majerle kind of player.
Great fundamentals. Great use of his body on the drives. Shoots really well.
There's a lot to like here.

We only develop a deeper rotation, though, if he plays guys like this more next year.
This kid deserves a TV timeout per half in the early season to see what he can do.

Please don't play your projected starters too many minutes too early in the season.
You have to find out what you have first.

You still have to win and maximize opportunities for margin of victory too. We need to both develop our guys and win while doing so by large margins whenever we can and especially against the weaker part of the schedule.

All this while being the weaker team in many matchups last year….

To put this in perspective, the best player on the Albury Wodonga Bandits is Ahren Freeman, 24 year old 6’7” small forward who played four years of college ball. His last two years were with Texas RGV in the WAC. In ‘23-24, Ahren Freeman put up 11 and 6. He’s averaging 18 and 9 in the NBL1 league Fennell is playing in.

Can’t draw too many conclusions, but Fennell is playing with grown men, not high school kids.

Fennell scoring 24 in the NBL1 league is more impressive than Womack scoring 50 in his high school league.
