Bigger than NC, and Duke. This is a game we need to win for pride and respect. It eats me alive that they have gotten the best of us , especially at home. Its time for a change, its time to win the battle in the trenches and chalk up a win. Lets win this.

I agree, I think it's the biggest game of the year. But aside from the pride and respect, a win would officially put us in the driver's seat for the ACC title and placement in Buffalo and MSG. Like it or not, a loss would make our game at Pitt an absolute must-win, which is not the position I want to be in. Oh, and plus I hate Pitt.

We've beaten Pitt 2 of the last 3. A win on Sat will establish another era of dominance over Pitt and relegate their nice run against SU to the history books.

Pitt is the Oakland A's of college basketball. They are good in the regular season, but never win anything when the postseason rolls around. I don't hate the Oakland A's I consider them plucky and don't have that much hate for them. Their playing style is annoying, but they don't win anything. I just to win basketball games I don't care to hate Pitt.

Rebounding, Rebounding, Rebounding...Every time we lose to Pitt they kill us on the glass. Was something like 37 to 21 last year down there. Even in the Big East tourney we were outrebounded by 7. Outrebounded in 10-11 by 14 when we fell behind like 18-0. We at least have to be even Saturday, because Pitt does not turn the ball over. I wonder if JB tries to defend the high post, pack it in and let pitt shoot threes, as they don't really have any shooters this year besides patterson, with Johnson out for the year.

SUs initial entry into acc play has been less than exhilarating thus far, a tight game with bottom feeder bc notwithstanding. A game with an old foe and quality opponent for those of us bored by the in-league competition so far may be somewhat therapeutic. Of course, nobody wants the outcome that we've been a little too accustomed to over the last decade or so. This should be a battle, an SU win will be extra satisfying compared to ~90% of the conference slate.

Interestingly enough...this is the stigma around syracuse if you peruse other teams' message boards.

Syracuse under-achieved recently in 2011 no doubt losing to a 11 seed Marquette.

In 2010 and 2012 we lost our starting C before the tournament both times once due to injury and once due to academics. Also, the 2012 Elite 8 we always bother me that the referees fouled out practically our entire team when that team didn't commit fouls at the rate they were called.

Syracuse also has the 1996 and 2013 runs when where as 4 seeds we reached the Final Four. We need another Championship to get into the elite of the elite IMO. However, Syracuse flame outs in 1991, 2005 are the really bad ones, but we have the Final Fours and the 2003 NC unlike the Oakland A's in Pittsburgh.

Yeah, the selection committee picks a team that beat us in the regular season. Well, we got revenge last year!

BC had a packed stadium. Probably doesn't happen that often. The BC player's got stoked by the crowd.

Also, the BS backcourt call on Dion Waiters that the NCAA apologized for after the game. The refs in the NCAAs owe a close 50/50 call in the tournament in a close game in the near future. 2011 Marquette, 2012 Ohio State, 2013 Michigan we need 1 break in a 2nd weekend game this year.

That's interesting because the scan of the arena on TV 5 min before the game started showed about 200 people in the seats.

It can be argued that we got it when Sullinger had to sit the whole first half...

Or when the refs bailed us out vs Asheville.

You forgot the worst one. The suplex in 2010. Still makes me fume.
