Pitt Post Game

We were once told by some mod that we should cheer for Duke because of NCAA tourney shares. So yay!, this will help us get 1/18th of the Pitt tournament share.

In all seriousness, the team seemed to show good effort. Have to give kudos to Eddie Lampkin.

I just think about what Fran says about these close games: (paraphrasing) It’s one vs one and he thinks he’s tougher than me, but there ain’t nobody tougher than me. It’s all mindset. Our team doesn’t believe they can win and isn’t tough when the game is on the line. Nice we didn’t get blown out but some toughness down the stretch would have helped.

Would love to know what the announced and estimated actual attendance was.

West coast trip into Duke before we get the BC/Miami back to back.

Got to avoid the five game losing streak before BC/Miami.

I'll just say not a lot of composure at the very end of the game. Didn't need to be in full panic mode on the offensive side

Petar showed some good things. Played his arse off.
They may have been all below the rim and some of them off his own misses, but 23 boards is impressive by Eddie
This game was lost in the first 10 minutes of the second half when we decided to stop playing defense. Pitt got a bunch of dunks and lays and easy looks. We were settling on offense, not moving without the ball and appeared not to have any real offensive plan.
11-32 from three, 8-13 free throws
Not to belabor the obvious, but we just aren’t very good. Choppa looked better today and I would’ve liked to have seen him get a few more minutes as we hopefully build towards the future that he may be a part of.

Losing at home to a projected 10 seed but keeping it close and that is what we have to give a hat tip to (not disagreeing with you at all)... but man how the mighty have fallen. This slide we've been on for years is really coming to a head.

or else we might not get a protected seed

Got to lover Red not opening his mouth all game to teach or coach his kids on what they are doing right or wrong. Just so bad. I was never the biggest JB fan but at least he coached all game long. The silver lining here is the more losses we have the quicker Red get let go. These losses suck, but we need for it to get worse before it gets better

Who knows how much it will keep falling. 0 win Acc season? I've thought for years the program had hit rock bottom, and every year it gets worse.

If SU loses to Pitt in an empty dome, did it even happen?

Unthinkable just a few years ago. The school should have learned from GRob how quickly the bottom can drop out.

Yeah, I keep watching on tv because I'm a sicko, but asking people to keep going to the dome when this is the product... going to be tough. Especially when the rest of the conference isn't that good either.

Eddie 23 rebounds are the most by an SU player since Dave Bing's 25 against Cornell on 2/3/1966.

Six other SU players have had 23-rebound games, but none since DC 3/10/90 against Villanova in the Big East Tournament. The last time it happened in a regular season game was Danny Schayes vs. Georgetown on 2/9/81.
