Pitt Post Game

Petar showed some good things. Played his arse off.
They may have been all below the rim and some of them off his own misses, but 23 boards is impressive by Eddie
This game was lost in the first 10 minutes of the second half when we decided to stop playing defense. Pitt got a bunch of dunks and lays and easy looks. We were settling on offense, not moving without the ball and appeared not to have any real offensive plan.
11-32 from three, 8-13 free throws
Not to belabor the obvious, but we just aren’t very good. Choppa looked better today and I would’ve liked to have seen him get a few more minutes as we hopefully build towards the future that he may be a part of.
Half eddies rebounds are his own missed bunnies. There should be a Lampkin constant or Reese constant (after the paragon of rebound stat padding)

FR= TR (1-TR/MB)

Where FR= functional rebounds
TR= total rebounds
MB= Missed bunnies

Got to lover Red not opening his mouth all game to teach or coach his kids on what they are doing right or wrong. Just so bad. I was never the biggest JB fan but at least he coached all game long. The silver lining here is the more losses we have the quicker Red get let go. These losses suck, but we need for it to get worse before it gets better
I think if Red puts up 20+ losses this season you have to let him go. You can’t sacrifice another year of the program declining just in the hopes that White and Anthony may make a difference (which is highly unlikely they will)

Execution in key moments determined the game. Granted our lack of D helps but PITT ran sets and got shots. We get JJ running 200 mph thru people for a contested heave.
We all know Red can't get it done. Only reason he's staying is cheapness and optics, and of course the Brinks truck Melo is going to park at the Melo center (sarcasm).

since when does having your 23 yr old center lead you in minutes played ever worked ? sub 500 . again.

Eddie 23 rebounds are the most by an SU player since Dave Bing's 25 against Cornell on 2/3/1966.

Six other SU players have had 23-rebound games, but none since DC 3/10/90 against Villanova in the Big East Tournament. The last time it happened in a regular season game was Danny Schayes vs. Georgetown on 2/9/81.
Crazy that Bing got those rebound numbers at 6’3“ 180 lbs.

I will say to their credit for the most part the kids played hard today.
For sure, just didn’t play smart enough to pull it out. This was the formula for how we used to lose games so I guess that’s progress!

Our next game is Wednesday at Stanford, 11 pm Eastern.

There's just no way I can stay up until 1 am on a Wednesday night for a sub .500 team.

I am going to dvr it and watch it the following day at 7pm.

NO SPOILERS!

Any good aldi new finds?
A guy on my staff team showed up to a meeting in a pair of sneakers I had never seen before, which is rare (currently have 190 pairs in my collection/Syracusefan.com resident sneakerhead ;))… he’s like “yeah, they’re Aldi brand, bought them at the store” - I was shaken to my very core!

I'll fall asleep trying to watch it as I do with anything I try to watch at that hour.

To fix that for me, there's just no way I can stay up until tipoff on a Wednesday night.
