Pitt Post Game

The pathetic thing is a loss like this used to really hurt and stuck with fans for days. Now it's just another one and doesn't matter. Nothing to feel bad about since the reality is the program isn't close to what it was.
Yep. I’m convinced that if the Paul Harris debacle (which stuck with me for days) happened with this team I wouldn’t really care.

Eddie 23 rebounds are the most by an SU player since Dave Bing's 25 against Cornell on 2/3/1966.

Six other SU players have had 23-rebound games, but none since DC 3/10/90 against Villanova in the Big East Tournament. The last time it happened in a regular season game was Danny Schayes vs. Georgetown on 2/9/81.
So, we have that going for us!

A guy on my staff team showed up to a meeting in a pair of sneakers I had never seen before, which is rare (currently have 190 pairs in my collection/Syracusefan.com resident sneakerhead ;))… he’s like “yeah, they’re Aldi brand, bought them at the store” - I was shaken to my very core!

It was close, at least.
no complaints, Pitt is a good team, it was competitive, we had a good chance to win, it was a 40- minute game instead of a 10 or 15-minute game. We'll be OK if we play that way the rest of the way. Low expectations but that's where we're at.

We were once told by some mod that we should cheer for Duke because of NCAA tourney shares. So yay!, this will help us get 1/18th of the Pitt tournament share.

In all seriousness, the team seemed to show good effort. Have to give kudos to Eddie Lampkin.
It's about time we gave kudos to Eddie Lampkin. You who have described have as overweight, winded and not in shape, shouldn't be playing for us, and all the other bull-sh$$ that is spread around here.

Congrats to Eddie who many have dumped on. He had 23 rebounds today. No one has done that since Derrick Coleman in 1990."Lampkin almost matched his previous career best of 14 in the first half alone, grabbing 12 boards before the break. Eight of his rebounds came on the offensive glass, while his 15 defensive boards set another career mark. The center has now hit double-digit rebounds 10 times this season, including in eight of his last 10 appearances." but he's out of shape - he should have had 30. Too bad JJ didn't match his average.

Sure, we are not a good team like the teams JB used to coach and take dancing. But every game we try and get better and do get better. We just aren't the team that's going to make the dance this year. Better fire Autry, he doesn't know what he's doing. That'll solve everything.

Tell DC that's exactly why we gave Eddie 44!

This is gaslighting. Plain and simple. It’s just not true. We are not getting better. We play the same game every time out. we can beat crummy teams, we lose to mid range teams, we get creamed by very good teams. We still have 1 road win. ITS ALMOST FEBRUARY.

I didn't see any of the game but I am encouraged that we didn't get blown out again. Seems like there are some positives to take away from the game. Maybe we can get one of the next couple games. At this point, that is all we can ask for this year.

If SU loses to Pitt in an empty dome, did it even happen?

Unthinkable just a few years ago. The school should have learned from GRob how quickly the bottom can drop out.
I find it amazing how quickly fans attentions shift. Even the most hardcore fans.

There are many prominent, long-time posters here - some who are apparently close to the program - that don’t even post here much lately.

This program is unrecognizable at the moment.

Well... some of that is likely because some folks were more attached to JB than the program independently.

It's not really that quick. We've been watching the decline for years and this year Red is just putting the finishing touches on the fall into oblivion.
