Women's Lacrosse Polls (2/29/16): Media #2 / Coaches #2

Media Poll: No. 1 Maryland; Towson, UConn Enter

After edging North Carolina on Saturday, the Maryland Terrapins (3-0) remain undefeated and atop the Media Poll rankings. They’re followed by No. 2 Syracuse (5-0), who received one first place vote, No. 3 Florida (4-0), No. 4 Notre Dame (5-0) and No. 5 North Carolina (3-2), as the Irish enter the top five for the first time this season. The No. 2 Orange and No. 4 Gators are set to square off tomorrow evening in the Carrier Dome.

Newcomers No. 17 Towson and No. 20 UConn enter the poll for the first time this season.

IWLCA Polls: Division I, II & III

All three 2015 defending National Champions hold the top spot in the IWLCA weekly coaches polls for the week of February 29. In Division I, Maryland is currently 3-0 in 2016, including a win this past week over the 2015 runner-up, North Carolina. Adelphi sits at 2-0 in Division II, having defeated Florida Southern and Grand Valley State, both Top-15 opponents. Cortland hasn't opened their season yet, but claimed all 20 first place votes in the Division III poll this week.
