Possible next head coach on ESPN+ at 8 pm

Don’t get your hopes up. Posted this in another thread, but Hodgson just signed an extension. Here are the updated buyouts.

Contract Year 1 – 4/1/2025 to 3/31/2026 – $1,000,000

Contract Year 2 – 4/1/2026 to 3/31/2027 – $750,000

Contract Year 3 – 4/1/2027 to 3/31/2028 – $500,000

Contract Year 4 – 4/1/2028 to 3/31/2029 – $250,000

Think Syracuse would pony up a million bucks to buy him out this offseason and pay Red his contract? Yeah, right.

Even the $750,000 plus whatever we owe Red after getting a 3rd year is improbable.

Million dollar buyouts are pretty cheap now. I think it is standard now for every coach to have some sort of a buyout.

I'm to busy watching Ben McCollums team, (yes I know he has no connection to NE and he'll probably only leave for a Midwest school). But man his team is fun to watch.

I wish Ben McCollum was someone we could target he would be best option be he isn't leaving the midwest.

Going to suck to watch not going to get to see Ark St offense because I think South Alabama runs zone 100% of the time.

If the school is serious about basketball, those are the things they need to do.

Looks like no buyout if you hire him before April 1:)

He’d be the hardwood version of Fran Brown. I can’t think of another coach that brings the same level of competitiveness within our price range

I watched a little watching some other games but like I said it is hard to judge anything on offense this game because it is zone it is like when we use to play zone against people and people would randomly suck against us because they see it once or twice a year.

So only thing I really watched was him on the sidelines and team defense. Team defense was passable most of the players especially the bigs were intense. What I really like about the coach is his energy and intensity on the sideline that stuff rubs off on the team.

Come Here Dr Evil GIF

I will say from the minutes I have watched his team offense does not look good against the zone. Very sloppy and loose with the ball. Hard to judge versus a zone but still I have to be fair

Agreed. This is what I like about GMac’s coaching too.
