Ok here is the real deal. Last 3 years after the final game of the season the coaches have a team meeting then group meetings then individual meetings. After that weekend they are gone. Trainers and s and c guys do the rehab and stuff but then around dec. 15 after the finals the players all disappear until January 15 after that they start winter work outs... very limited contact with coaches until spring ball starts 6 or so weeks later.
This year the coaches are in and out recruiting. Rehab and strength and conditioning never stopped. Next week the coaches return and they begin meetings and walk thrus. They get 15 on field practices between the last game and the bowl. They have more meetings and walk thrus like regular season schedule. Now you can all decide if that extra time helps make them better for next year on your own. I can tell you I know coach babers said in the past that not having the longer season hurt him in preparing for next year so I tend to believe at least on some level the players get better during this time.
