Postgame Thoughts… Georgetown

First half was fun. Bench was really productive and was great to see.

Second half, some of the worst coaching I’ve seen in a bit.

Awful loss.

32 shots combined for the Boeheim’s. It’s not winning basketball and having your go to play when you need a bucket being Jimmy backing down a more talented defender shows how far we have fallen.

“There can be no true despair without hope”

If they were just getting killed every game it would be easier to give up. But they show just enough that I’m still gutted after each loss.

I missed the first 10 minutes of the second half did anyone from the bench play in the second half?

Completely abandoned what built the 10 point half time lead.

All starters and ISO ball all second half. Absolutely ridiculous.
I was starting to get a little nervous during the first half that I’d have to eat crow for saying this team’s offense just isn’t sustainable because of the lack of movement and lack of creation abilities.

The second half helped put my mind at ease.

Running our offense for Jimmy to go one on one against vastly superior athletes may be the low point of the last 10 years of Syracuse basketball. Jimmy is so selfish and for a smart kid how could he not see how well we scored when he passed the ball in the first half. He had four rebounds in 39 minutes but I can’t wait for his father to take a shot at Symir or Frank or Benny because I’m sure they were the reason we lost.

I suppose this is still fun for those into the nostalgia aspect of sports and can't get enough of the Boeheim family reunion story. For those of us who nostalgia only goes so far, this kinda sucks.
There's a certain segment of people who are Boeheim fans, not fans of the Syracuse Basketball program.

[can't wait for the "bOeHeIm Is SyRaCuSe BaSkEtBaLl" responses]

You cant play a one point game on the road for 10 minutes. Seniority has to make runs on the road.
When seniority doesn't lead you to runs in the second half, it's hard to play subs who arent 6th men.

Hard fought game, they made shots. There isn't much you can do when that happens.

Great rivalry though, and Georgetown is much better than they look. Mutombo, Rice hitting those threes early, and that Mohammed kid were outstanding. That's a ton of talent - this was a statement non-conference win for them so they really came out with their best game of the season by far. They were on a mission - and it's hard to stop a mission.

At the end of the day we just gotta practice and improve. We run some really good ISO, and the D is looking good - passing in the interior was a bit easy for them, but they can pass the ball.

Not much we could do - just one of those days. LGO!!!
Is this JB’s presser?

There has to be a starting lineup change. The current lineup is just not athletic enough. The bench played great in the first half and saw no time in the second half. It’s really hard to explain. Smir not playing in second half really hurts Joe. Way too much Jr. and Swider. They don’t deserve their minutes.

All starting 5 have the ability to get hot and have a great game. But they just aren’t consistent to rely upon them.
