How does he know they’re 14-0 or 7-7if he hasn’t looked at the records?

This would explain a lot regarding his in game management. Perhaps he’s not noticing when players are performing horrendously

As others have said, the issue isn't in the total talent, they've been in situations to win almost every game, as you'd want, with different players stepping up. The issue lies at guys playing too many minutes out of position, starting at PG. Watch how Girard comes off screens from Torrence for rhythm shots. He's a combo guard, not a point; he's a dynamic offensive scorer, he could just be used far better as a 2.

Defense as a whole is a different story, but at offense, a pass first PG who penetrates solves this whole thing.

He looks at the record, he's hanging on to get 1,000 wins and try to catch Coach K. It will take forever winning 15-18 games a year as we will probably do with him still coaching.

Love Buddy and hes really turned into a great player for us...but hes asked to do way too much for this team because the pieces to the puzzle just don't fit at all. All these kids are nice players on any team but not to be starting together for 30+ min a game. Buddy also is one of the worse defenders I've ever watched play at Syracuse...concrete feet and watches just about any person dribble by him. Same can be said for a few other guys as well.

Yeah. It’s sad to an extent, but the worst thing for Buddy was the giant roster turnover.

With Jessie’s improvement, a team that has Kadary getting some minutes and either griffin or Quincy on the court, he probably gets more open looks and doesn’t get as exposed defensively.

Now he’s the focus of opposing defenses and there’s no need to double down on either forward.

Buddy was a pre-season All ACC player. And he can play at this level and might have had a huge season…but….

He has cards to play. Even today.. had he put Torrence in earlier vs the press the lead wouldn’t have disappeared. By the time he got around to it , Miami was feeling good about themselves and we weren’t . Game over

It all started with the inbounds pass with 16 seconds left in the first half. This game was lost because Buddy and Jr. we’re just dreadful. Their effort on defense is inexcusable and I would call JB on it and not let him off the hook. I would ask for JB’s retirement letter before he got back to the locker room. This was an embarrassment for this program tonight. If I was the coach tonight his sons would have gotten an earful. There is no excuse for their effort tonight.

late in the game there was a loose ball bouncing towards buddy. he basically waited for the ball to come to him instead of attacking the ball and grabbing it. of course a miami player attacks and grabs the loose ball in front of buddy and buddy is left farting in the wind. his lack of effort is really surprising.

Yes, but they got the ball to the corner and they seemed to drive and score every single time on it.

The forward version of Buddy isn't his brother its Swider. So hes on the floor with both his brother AND a guy like him whos a very streaky shoot first player.

Its those 3 who make us very easy to play against. A so so ACC team can sleepwalk through the first half flip a switch and run us out of the gym. THe bench players could be used to put guys in better spots but we don't do it and neither are great players Benny and Symir probably don't play on other ACC teams.

Girard is having a better year than Buddy and Edwards is our best player. They get a pass. 2 years of each remaining for a new coach are nice building blocks IMO.

Yeah but we know that ain't happening. And so does he. Egotism is why he's still coaching at 77 and egotism is why we have the roster we do and egotism is why he's not changing up the lineups.

Symir had 6 assists in 14 minutes.

He’s got some Z Sims to him.

And we don’t exactly have Autry or Michael Lloyd ahead of him….

We’ve lost multiple games this year when it was obvious Symir and Joe was our most effective backcourt. The whole my “best” players need to play 30 minutes every night regardless of how the game is going isn’t winning basketball. It’s so frustrating.

A complete and utter second half meltdown. We haven't turned the ball over like that all season. Miami’s defense is rated 200 in KenPom defensive efficiency, and they looked as terrible as their rating in the first half. We scored at will against them. Then Miami looked like a completely different, swarming defensive team in the second half. Night and day. A complete no-show from Buddy and Jimmy is unacceptable. Just awful. And our defense was atrocious for most of the second half. Complete meltdown in the first 6 minutes of the 2nd was a real killer.

This was Williams best game of the year and it isn't close. Pulling him at the end of the first half was stupid on a lot of levels. JB needed to leave him in for the rest of the half when hes making things happen and Jimmy and Cole are off.
