When your defense is this bad maybe you better put better defensive players on the floor. Benny is actually our best passing forward. He has more upside than Jr. Let Jr. come off the bench. Try something. You’ve proved after 14 games that what you’re doing isn’t working. Jimmy is flopping all over the floor. For some reason he was dribbling twenty feet from the basket tonight and it didn’t go well. Teams are not going to let him drive the lane any shoot his righty hook. The ACC is not stupid. He missed two layups early in the second half that might have slowed Miami down. I don‘t want to see Buddy low in the zone. He’s a nightmare defensively.

Bottom line is we’re not going to win much. It’s embarrassing. Syracuse has turned into a joke and yet I still watch every second of every game. At a loss for words.

Awful loss. Another one. I guess if it keeps happening they can’t really be called awful anymore because it’s just part of it.

Second half is just clockwork. Other teams adjust and the game shifts shockingly quickly. Like 10’ in it was 11-33? Wow.

Pressure us and bad things happen. We knew it before the year. We see it happening. Pretty simple.

Edwards was solid inside. Still needs more touches.

Oh, we shot like 50% from three and made 15 (Edit-17!!)..…….

Well, tonight was pretty much on Jimmy Boeheim. Last game, too.
I think he's been very good this year, but maybe he's wearing down; maybe the opposition is getting better. But he can't shoot so poorly from the foul line, and be so butter-fingered just bringing the ball upcourt.

Benny looked fairly good tonight. JB should have given Benny a few more minutes in the 2nd half, when Jimmy had about 4 turnovers in 4 minutes.

Yeah, I've been trying to make this argument for years...JB is trying to build a team for Buddy to be a scorer. Buddy is not a scorer. He's a shooter/specialist that could do a tiny bit more with the right parts around him.

The roster construction needed to make him a "scorer," make the team, and ultimately him IMO, much worse for it.

This is nonsensical. The problem isn’t Buddy being an offensive focus; it’s that JB didn’t recruit enough good pieces from the transfer portal to put around him, then picked the wrong guys from the portal, and allowed good, experienced players to walk out the door to transfer because he doesn’t know how to keep kids happy anymore. There’s no balance. Failing at roster construction and player retention. It’s time for him to retire.

Glad i fell asleep on couch with 4 minutes to go in first half and just now woke up. Now I get to go to bed and sleep it off. All will be better in morning. It great when you care less than you ever have.

Rock Lloyd would be the best player on this team.

Can’t wait to watch an actual basketball team next season. I don’t care if we suck again just give me something remotely enjoyable to watch.

He certainly had some turnovers and got stripped a few times, but a couple of them were after passes/catches in traffic. Felt like most of the first half he was diving out of bounds trying to save a ball too.

100%. Buddy can be the offensive focus and a great one, can’t do it without a point guard and 4 other guys not moving without the ball. He gets the ball he literally has no option but to shoot or drive. Buddy is the last guy to blame on this team outside of Jesse.

They drove us to death in the second half and either scored or got to the foul line. Wong spent the entire second half at the foul line.

After they scored about 30 pts in 10 minutes scoring off our turnovers

Soon as we broke the press and Joe passed it to Jimmy who had gotten a little too far under the hoop and then did that stiff backed looking brick layup, I knew we were done.

Literally any other starting Syracuse forward in the last 40 years flushes that. Absolutely absurd that a full court press from any old BS team just completely flummoxes us like we’re a bad JV high school team. This is D-1 ACC!!! You don’t just get bullied by a press every game! Unreal.

A few things watching the game.

We are the most unathletic team with our starting 5, it’s painful how slow they are. I feel like we have 4 of the same player in 1-4 and edwards. Our roster management is Awful, we need a point guard. I would be shocked if we made the NIT. It’s time for something fresh and new.

Yeah but Joe and Buddy aren’t to blame. According to the defensive metrics they don’t know where the forwards are supposed and those guys get steals.
That is what JB said when questioned why the PG who left had been defensive metrics and wasn’t playing more, along with conditioning.
