Potential 2021 Roster

Likewise, you really list him as a returning QB, you need to move on. If you can see the reality here I can’t help you. To lock up a QB scholarship with Rex next year would be asinine. Too many transfers etc.
I hope Rex returns. I actually think he looked good against ND. Very good actually.

Looked good in what way? If your definition of looking good is three turnovers, a very bad pass that AQ make a great play and run on. His career QB stats are 11 TDS/ 11 INTs, don’t have count of fumbles but it’s not great either. His career completion is 52%. He has had a career 47 rushes for -9 and zero TDs. I need some help here. Maybe I am missing something. A ND grad friend of mine says if you guys have a average QB yesterday you beat us. Clearly I am missing something.

no idea what yr to call some of these kids... all the FR should really just be called r-FR but if this yr doesnt then they all get another RS yr if they need it too.

so the real question is do the schools who didnt play at all get the yr back too? could be kids who graduated now with 2 yrs left floating around looking to move up..

he looked good when the read was correct and the play was there.. play calling helped him.. his accuracy hurt a few times but he didnt enough to make a win a small chance until his mistakes came to happen

The thing I find most disappointing about this list is the number of WR we have who are 3 or 4 years in the program and have had almost zero impact.

We also seem to suddenly have quite a lot of TEs, when we haven't used them as much as hoped for. I guess they are looking to grow a couple into Ts or to use for short yardage running plays.

We're still very young at LB, albeit with pretty decent depth and experience. Same with the DBs.

no idea what yr to call some of these kids... all the FR should really just be called r-FR but if this yr doesnt then they all get another RS yr if they need it too.

I'm basing it how SU listed all the LAX players for 2021.

All the Freshmen became Redshirt Freshmen.
All the Sophs became Redshirt Sophs
If you were already a Redshirt Soph, you became a Redshirt Junior, etc...
Top of the line is a guy who's been here forever that I'm calling a Graduate Senior.

This way we can separate all the 2nd year Freshmen from all the 1st year Freshmen coming in next season.

When SU releases an official Spring Roster in a few months, I'll change our list to whatever nomenclature SU decides upon.

To answer your other question, I believe EVERY school gets the year back, even the ones who pushed off football to the Spring, and the schools who cancelled everything.

There will be a LOT of guys with an extra year available. I can see the borderline NFL guys trying to play one more college season to improve whatever draft stock they have. The guys with no NFL ambitions will still take their degrees in 4-5 years, especially if they have decent jobs lined up. Not everybody will want to stay in school for over half a decade to chase a Masters Degree.

Go rewatch game. He made a great read on the Tucker pass

Hard year for a WR without a line or a QB...We could have Megatron and it would not matter much.

isnt that what I said, when the read was correct he made some good plays.. almost every pass was pre-snap read and quick out.. look what happened on the INT bad read bad decision.

The Tucker pass might been the best of his career, really nice catch too. His accuracy led to several missed chances when he made good decisions.

I also think that was his best effort, good way for a SR to go out if he is done.. A tough call on the first fumble ir we are ahead at the half and who knows.

Fair point.

The punter Cooney has one more possible year, right? Was he ever put on scholarship?

I dont see anyway Cooney is NFL kicker.. He is way too inconsistent and the market is so small to make the NFL. But stranger things have happened.. He does a decent job punting to the red Zone.

There's certainly enough blame to be shared. Early on in the year, especially before TD got hurt, we saw a lot of dropped passes and there were a lot of comments about our lack of ability to win 50/50 balls. A megatron, or even and Ishmael, would've helped us then.

Cooney had a better year (by average) than Riley Dixon or the Hof ever had. He’s going to get an invite to OTAs somewhere.

but there are things other than avg punt that go into to being a pro.. hang time, direction, consistency matter much more at the pro level where they have 100 guys for 1 spot.. a pro team would rather have a guy avg 43 than a guy who goes 35-55.

Might be the worst QB room in the ACC, take out TD and it's not even a discussion, if we could I'd like us to move on from summers, culpepper returning doesn't hurt us at all so who cares, he's a liked veteran leader in the QB room which can't hurt. Jury is still out on morgan and tex but there's probably a reason morgan didn't have a single FBS offer but ours.
Staff hasn't exactly done a good job developing one of their own QB's which might be to blame on martin but if we're gonna be successful we got no chance if TD goes down and it's not like he's exactly killed it so far.
