no idea what yr to call some of these kids... all the FR should really just be called r-FR but if this yr doesnt then they all get another RS yr if they need it too.
so the real question is do the schools who didnt play at all get the yr back too? could be kids who graduated now with 2 yrs left floating around looking to move up..
I'm basing it how SU listed all the LAX players for 2021.
All the Freshmen became Redshirt Freshmen.
All the Sophs became Redshirt Sophs
If you were already a Redshirt Soph, you became a Redshirt Junior, etc...
Top of the line is a guy who's been here forever that I'm calling a Graduate Senior.
This way we can separate all the 2nd year Freshmen from all the 1st year Freshmen coming in next season.
When SU releases an official Spring Roster in a few months, I'll change our list to whatever nomenclature SU decides upon.
To answer your other question, I believe EVERY school gets the year back, even the ones who pushed off football to the Spring, and the schools who cancelled everything.
There will be a LOT of guys with an extra year available. I can see the borderline NFL guys trying to play one more college season to improve whatever draft stock they have. The guys with no NFL ambitions will still take their degrees in 4-5 years, especially if they have decent jobs lined up. Not everybody will want to stay in school for over half a decade to chase a Masters Degree.
