Potential 2025-26 Roster

Over the summer Donnie should pull some old tape on a couple of PF’s who played in the Dome back in 1987 and 1996. He needs to add some interior grit and shot blocking to his game, and expand the offensive weaponry. The kid oozes talent and potential. Just needs a really strong off season to get his body ready and his skills rounded out. I can’t wait to see him back on the court.

I know it’s still early but we really need to see at least one or two portal commits by the end of next week. The top targets will go early. We can’t be in a situation like we were last year where we were picking over leftovers to build a roster.

I don’t agree with that. The earlier you sign someone the higher chance you overpay. It’s not like guys are coming off the board and there’s still players not in the portal yet that are playing.

There’s only 16 teams playing (maybe add a few more if you in NIT, etc). Chances are we’re not building our roster from those teams outside of 1 or 2 guys.

I’m not saying the roster needs to be finished next week, just a commit or two.

I am not saying we will, but it adds to the population of players available and drives down market costs.

Haven't we seen the opposite the last couple years? We waited too long and ended up driving up the price because we were desperate.

That is a pretty great Center combo and makes the whole Petar situation understandable. I want Petar to stay, but if he's looking at Quincy, William, Donovan and Sadiq blocking his PT, I get his reluctance to sign off on this.

We already in Kyle, White, and Donnie have more athletic ability then anytime in the last 10 years. That at least is a good start in being able to pressure, and possibly run a fast break.
Maybe get a few turnovers and run outs for layups.

I don't see any way Kyle plays the 4. His game is putbacks and lobs. That's about it.

And for semantics, if they are both on the floor with a 'real' 5, White is the 4 and Freeman is the 3. DF has the much more polished offensive game and ability to hit from outside. Think Melo and Hak.

Give me a point guard like Sherm, Flynn, with a lot of speed who can beat people down the floor, and throw the lob for dunks.
