I was naïve in not believing that roster limits were coming to college lacrosse. No limit has been finalized as of yet, but the one I've seen banded about is 35, which is pretty low. That said, the 12.6 scholarship limit for lax, is gone. Should be interesting to see how many full rides schools on the whole decide to give out. Will SU give out the full 35? Could other schools give out less? What happens if a player isn't producing as coaches thought they might? Will rosters be more cutthroat?
"As part of the new revenue-sharing model — beginning in 2025-26 academic year — by-sport scholarship restrictions are eliminated, and schools are permitted to offer scholarships to the entirety of their rosters. The new roster limit figures are not final until the approval of House settlement terms."
