Class of 2023 QB Amari Odom (NC) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (1/10/26)

Interesting that he has 2 years left and confident enough to come. Obviously Angelli is a question mark this year and would have to get waiver approved for a second year but totally possible that there ends up being no path for Odom if things workout the best way for us. With how things are set up portal wise currently it’s easy for him to jump back in next year if Angelli comes back so he’ll have options. Great work for the staff getting him to believe in the vision while I’m sure there were immediate starting spots available at other schools.
I have a feeling Fran is pledging to get QB2 playing time in non-conference and blowouts. Protects Angeli, makes sure backup is ready and is a much better pitch during portal season.

For those that don’t know

He played the best team in the country, Indiana, in his first game at Kennesaw this past season. 10-16 176 yards 1 INT 0 TDs. His first game against P4 was the year before when he was at the FCS level. Played South Carolina very late in the season when they were playing like a playoff team. He was 15-28, 215 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs. Anyone think any of our backups do even that this past season? I don’t

Delete if already posted but his highlights look great. Big arm. Nifty runner. Promising pick up. He and Angeli may have a battle for QB1 when Angeli gets healthy.

One of his positive traits just based off that video looks like he really excels at keeping his eyes down field when maneuvering a broken pocket and not just looking to just pull the ball and pick up yards on the ground. Stays composed and looks to make a play down the field. Very good quality to have in a QB.

I love his throwing motion
