sliding is the stupidest rule.

the guy is going to tackle you at your waist and you give yourself up and lower your head to where the guy is going to hit you. then your head snaps back and hits the ground.

they need to come up with some other alternative, spiking the ball, anything. you're better off not sliding.

cut the D a little slack. opposing qb IS SUPPOSED to take some punishment whenever they tuck and run. that is football reality.

Agreed. The Memphis player was already moving in for the tackle before Gunner slid. This one is an unfortunate accident.

Interesting, I was under the impression that you couldn't simulate the slide to gain an advantage. I thought it was a penalty, similar to a half arsed fair catch on a return. If that starts to happen you have to change the rule, a defender can't defend that.

I support the defense on this hit. Slide was a bad idea on this one. If a qb is running u0 the middle just dive. Might still draw a late hit but at least it won't be a blow to the head.

dungey was targeted 1-2 other times already this year. i guess they should just let the players call timeout. the issues is guys on D trying to hit people instead of tackling people.
