Class of 2023 QB LaNorris Sellers (SC) Flipped to South Carolina

What should I do; hate on him because he made a poor decision? Raise your hand if you never made a bad decision as a teenager!
!
This isn't like "hey I went to the movies" or "gee I shouldn't have smoked that spliff" type of bad decision.

There are levels and severity of decisions.

When did being a “kid” and being a “professional” become mutually exclusive?

Weird stuff

My issue with it is the anonymity of the people criticizing him on twitter. If you want to criticize put your name to it and don't hide behind a fake twitter name. I'm sure if people had to say who they really were there would be a lot less stupid on Social Media.
I don't agree with it. But to react to Twitter ... Leiker might as well complain about gambling at a casino.

Understood, are you saying everything you did as a teen you would approve of your children doing, if you have any? I think what he did stinks and also feel that he has a lot of maturing to go through like all of what we older folks had to. What he did to Coach Beck is deplorable and yet like most he will learn from his mistakes. If he was 30 or above and still acting like he did then perhaps he is like some of the hate spewing clowns who are ruining our country!

Challenge is that so much as far as prospects is concentrated in the NYC area and due to being such a mass media market the major prospects there tend to have a national outlook on things. They just want to go where the hype is.

Remember the DE from Staten Island or Brooklyn. Dominque Easly? He was on an episode of Below deck this season, 100M yacht, 5 star chef, my man only ate pancakes for breakfast lunch and dinner.

I think he was a Marrone anselmo target lol. Your post reminded me of him.

I remember. And Ogundeko, and Ishaq, and the OSU receiver from Erasmus, and the list goes on.

I know a few P5 and D1 staff. My experience has been that the family settles into a spot and the dad (coach) moves solo to the next destination(s). It's the reality of life for that profession and those involved knew it going in.

So that said, yes Syracuse will have a great offense!!
That's a pretty common lifestyle for most couples when one is climbing the business ladder and moving from state to state. It doesn't only apply to the coaching profession.

Very true. That said, many in the corporate world are able to switch jobs and stay in the same locale. In the D1 football coaching world, it does not work out that conveniently.

Exactly. These all play out the same.

I forgot about Ishaq, that one was a PS driven disappointment

Be warned though, it's a trip only for the strong. ;)

Dont do anything. No reason to thank a kid who dumped on us.
Sellers not only dumped on us, he used SU Athletics and OC Beck to better his life at our program's expense. Obviously he was going to SC if the offer came. SU made it possible.

I didn’t thank him; I wished him well. Not even sure why this thread continues. We’re done with him and moving on. We have a decent QB room and will find another QB in this cycle, if the staff feels we need one. There are plenty of QB transfers in the portal which is where we found Shrader which has turned tquite well!

Uhh, what? This is an absurd argument. Why did a Syracuse offer make that possible and not the Virginia one that he had held onto for a year?

I'm pretty neutral on Sellers and don't quite get the strong reactions by some. If not for Beck, Sellers would never have been interested in SU. How many of us had him as a possible recruit before Beck came over? It makes sense that he'd want to play for the team he's cheered for growing up, when he was offered that chance. All the best to him. We still have good options at QB and Beck will continue to attract talented players.

Sellers made a moral mistake - he should have declared uncommitted after Beck left UVA. Moral mistakes are hard to recover from.

He chose not to declare uncommitted to entice other offers - he took ours at our expense.

There is no way that a Syracuse offer was going to trump an SC offer. The SC offer was going to happen - it was just a matter of when.

If you play cards its obvious - don't show your hand if you are trying to win. Syracuse laid its cards down for all to see - like they were trying to lose.

Silver lining is that the guys in the QB room saw this coming and this makes Lamson and DRW more comfortable - which is nice. Our QB room is solid and our starter is the man!

I agree, especially when we stood by him, your word is your bond. I do not know his beliefs but if they are of faith and goodness then he acted in a very wrong way and strung us all along. This is just my belief. I also place this responsibility on his parents. He did not have to commit but he did and that changed the dynamics. I wish him nothing but goodness, I hope he makes it right, I trust he will. I also believe this is a different scenario.

Sellers did nothing wrong at all. Disappointed, but he maximized his options 100% to the degree of which the game is played.

I honestly think he could still take the field for us at some point in 2025 or 2026.
