I really hope it’s cause the tape on the other 2 are more appeasing to you, and the sole reason isn’t about the video of when he was 17. Everyone has there own opinion on it though.

I won’t get into the video part because I have a different opinion on that one but I think any of the 3 would be an upgrade to qb 2 in the last 5 years.

The other two at least played D1 football. I'm more skeptical here that a guy that had 21 INTs in two years at the D2 level would translate well.

Fair I just think any guy with in game experience is what we need. I also think D2 they just let them air it out just cause.

I would love to get Dickens and the Stokes if he will come to be QB3. He seems like a talented wildcard but don't want all our chips in him as QB2 especially if we get a shot at Dickens

This is all a pretty delicate situation. But if the two QBs coming in plan to compete for QB1 with Angeli, I guess you need 3 decent ones and let the chips fall where they may.

We aren't going to get Dickens or Odom to come be QB3. They may come to be QB2 with Steve injury concerns and promise to start the year after, but neither is coming to be QB3 or even fight for QB2. They can get that other places. Better chance Stokes would come be QB3 with his history.

They might come to fight for QB1. Both have the talent to, and Steve is coming off one of the more serious athletic injuries you can have.

Sell them the open competition for this season, plus starter moving forward. If one of them ends up QB3, they can hit the portal again.

Why would Stokes be a "better chance" to just accept QB3 with the supposed interest he has?

Jeremy has sources that I don't have, so generally he's going to have a better idea than I do about the team. I can only go off what I see in the games.

People piled on about Rickie but again I was only saying he deserves a fair shot.

Its complicated because of two facts. One Steve. Nobody including Steve really know how he is going to do. I have spoken directly to Steve and he is at this point doing extremely well. He is ahead of schedule. Does that mean that he will start the season. Play as well as he did pre injury, Not get injured again? Nobody knows. What we do all know is that he suffered a major injury and like every other person on the planet most were better off preinjury.
Two kids want to play. Again, I have been privy to some of the going Ons and kids want to get paid but they also want to play. Each of the QBs that we are targeting want to play. Steve because of his injury is probably a good bet to stay with Syracuse the next two years vs just one. Syracuse will pay him well so I doubt he leaves for a shot at the pros or another team as long as we can pay him which we can. So again, which of these kids wants to possibly sit for two years? It's complicated. I agree with bnoro pecking order on talent level. However, there is a reason that the kids visiting now is first in line.

This is a great summary of the situation, thank you. Makes complete sense. Steve’s injury status is truly the best recruiting tool we have with these QBs we are targeting. And that is still a dicey proposition.
