LOL this whole thread is dumb. This kids situation was dumb. Context does matter. Pretending it doesn't, isn't arguing in good faith and exists in a bubble. The problem here was he was too comfortable filming himself saying it, not understanding that he needs to be more empathetic than that. The “I just want to read about the recruit” act isn't going to fly. My second to last post was literally about Stokes. You just didn’t like getting your argument folded, so you went nostalgia‑mode and yelled out an old username like it was some kind of finishing move.

My posts about QB height are directly relevant to Stokes. He’s 6'2", built for P4 football and projects upward. That’s the entire point. Comparing him to a 5'11", 180 lb. QB isn’t off‑topic. It’s explaining why Stokes is the better fit for this level.

This thread and the newbie is a perfect example of why I can hardly come on here anymore after many years as a poster. Again. This is way beyond the original topic. If you want a discussion about short QBs and whether they can be good or not, it should be a separate discussion in the Football board. And the amount of new peoople on Syracusefan who argue with long time, really informed posters is getting tiring.

I want to correct myself on my above post. I think the topic on it's own about how a short QB could succeed is a very interesting one, and in reality should be moved to the football board where so many others would see it and offer opinions. There are so many good examples in the above posts of shorter QBs who have done well. And really we have newbies that have a lot to offer, and in whole DomeFoam is not incorrect, just not familiar where certain topics should go. Recruiting is just that. Film on the player, updates on rankings, accolades, visits, etc. Honestly, many don't really look at the recruiting topics. They just want the final... are they coming. The topic on height is an interesting one and as DomeDog said (I think) should be moved to the main football board. Even if it is in relation to Stokes. It is still not a recruiting specific topic as it involves discussing another player or players. It is more of a general topic.

If the other is the lower level 5-11 kid -- great.

We need experience in the QB room, with guys who can step in and do better than Collins / Filardi / Carney this past year.

Landing two transfers is a tall order, with Angeli slated to return, with two years left. So we might have to chase guys who lack a measureable -- like the 5-11 kid.

I'd rather have a 5-11 proven commodity from FCS than a 6-3 kid who can't play, like Collins.

At some point, you just have to land players who can produce, and worry about ideal measureables second.
