Class of 2023 QB Marcus Stokes (FL) Portal to Memphis

I guess you would have to consider the context and certainly and most importantly the current heart posture. And none of us will escape that from the One who sees and no matter what looks for goodness. Amazing Grace how sweet a sound. I know nothing of this situation personally, but I certainly trust to know the before for sure
Or we can all just try to be good people to each other, rather than to please the "one who sees".

LOL this whole thread is dumb. This kids situation was dumb. Context does matter. Pretending it doesn't, isn't arguing in good faith and exists in a bubble. The problem here was he was too comfortable filming himself saying it, not understanding that he needs to be more empathetic than that. If there's nothing additional to add, outside of what we already know, than he's more than served his punishment IF he is in fact talented enough to be playing at a higher level and this is the only thing preventing that.

I wouldn't have to do it if we started bringing high character individuals into my alma mater.
Just stop. I remember you pontificating non-stop about Ford being brought in years ago. You couldn't have been more wrong.

Get off your moral high horse, over minor things.

I have no problem with fans of a program drawing certain lines in the sand. But when our African-American head coach, and his African-American offensive coordinator are comfortable actively recruiting a prospect, I don't care to hear about peanut gallery pearl clutching.

Even ignoring all the other stuff, I’d be a bit whelmed if this is our “bigger” of the two QB’s we plan to add (and I do expect it to be - thrilled if I’m wrong of course).

The physical tools are really intriguing but looking at his numbers and a bit of his film he doesn’t really feel like the type of QB that has had success in this offense.

I’m a very big believer in Nixon so I trust that he has a plan but idk, we’ll have to wait and see I guess.

Congrats bro, you are now the only perfect person left in the world. And I say that from 33 years experience working in law enforcement where I have seen, and put away, very bad people (never a QB recruit that repeated the lyrics of a rap song though). And holy crap, guess what, some of these people turned their lives around and are not only reformed, but have become awesome people who are assets to their community! And this may shock you…many of these people were white dudes who actually went to prison and did long term sentences for crimes that you say they all get away with. I do not envy your burden of perfection…

Hey buddy, it's his alma mater, we're just living in it

I counted 9 maybe 10 times he set his feet that are pretty obvious.
Hmmmm... I saw him throwing of his back foot while on the move repeatedly. Makes the distance of some throws even more impressive but also lollipops the ball as result. Kids got great arm strength just will need to see more on shorter routes into tighter windows. Not saying he can't or doesn't, just didn't see it on that clip.

That said, we have some catch radius receivers that those passes can work with. Hell throw 50:50 balls deep on 3rd and long and see what happens. Complete, PI, incomplete or pick but at least there's a chance. Better than throwing short pick 6s as we did repeatedly last season.

I'm guessing we get this guy or Taron Dickens. I had heard more in the Taron camp originally but things may have changed.
Based only on highlights and stats, Dickens "seems" like the better QB to me and I don't think it's close.

I am not anti Stokes. His production is intriguing. But... he also threw at least 1 INT in 9 of 12 games this season (total of 13). And he threw 8 INTs in 8 games played last season.

Dungey’s best year - 2018 -
He passed for 18 TD’s and 9 INT’s.

Prior years were 14/9 & 15/7.

Now granted, he did a TON with his legs too.
And so does Stokes.

But - somebody who throws it a lot is also usually going to have a few more INT’s.
30/13 is an absolutely acceptable ratio.
