He will get offered more elsewhere to be a starter. Fran’s not paying for two starting quarterbacks.
I think Rickie would be happier with an alternate spelling than he would be with all the fans willing to dump him for a TOTAL MAYBE.Are you doing it on purpose?
Just spell his name right.
She hot?I think Rickie would be happier with an alternate spelling than he would be with all the fans willing to dump him for a TOTAL MAYBE.
PS - Senioritis, I saw the other spelling for a different Rikki Collins and it stuck in my head. Thx for pointing that out.
That’s not my argument, my argument is if you were going to look for for better in the spring why name him QB1 and say you’re “handing him the keys” there is zero upside and makes zero sense unless you are in fact all in on Rickie Collins.
How much is Collins getting? What does a starting QB make? What is Angeli need?He will get offered more elsewhere to be a starter. Fran’s not paying for two starting quarterbacks.
QB is the most important position in sports with goalie a close second. I really like this kid. Hope he ends up here.It would be interesting to know how much Nil investment was made with Collins. That could be indicative of if we would make a play on Angelli.
Look man, I'm manifesting it.Angeli is not guaranteed to have a higher ceiling than Collins (or even Jakhari) IMO

The master manifester.Look man, I'm manifesting it.
It's getting manifested.
I don't think you can say he's "played at a high level on a big stage". He's played spot minutes and started one game (a bowl game that meant nothing).Angeli at least has demonstrated playing at a high level on a big stage.

Tommy Devito did similar here, enough to make us think he would be really good, and then stunk it up the next season.
We must have different definitions of "cooked"Hey
Cutlets cooked for a bit in the league
Hey, forget the NFL, no SU QB was better than Tommy at padding his stats when we were trailing 49-7We must have different definitions of "cooked"
Yeah have to agree to disagree, I see literally zero upside in naming him now unless you’re all in.Again, nah. There is plenty of upside for the time being in naming Collins. If Collins loses the QB1 position to someone new, that’s on him. Team composition will continually change, no one’s position is guaranteed, all players know that.
All I'm saying that is that's lot of Angeli's ND stats.Hey, forgot the NFL, no SU QB was better than Tommy at padding his stats when we were trailing 49-7
How to lose the locker room 101 Have a chance to have a better qb (not saying he is) and not take him and lose games because of it. If you believe that this kid is better and you don't take him if you can, you aren't doing your job. Just like every other position. How to lose a locker room 101: Name a kid a starter at the biggest position in the game, publicly support him, say you’re going to give him the keys, and then weeks later say “sorry but actually we’re going somewhere else” I can’t imagine they view Angeli as that big of an upgrade over Collins they’d do that.
I just don’t believe this kid would be such a substantial upgrade over Rickie that it would make FB reverse course on naming Rickie QB1. Maybe that’s where the disconnect in this argument is, because I do agree if a bonafide can’t miss guy came along then sure go back on it, but I don’t believe Angeli is that. How to lose the locker room 101 Have a chance to have a better qb (not saying he is) and not take him and lose games because of it. That is fine. I have no idea.I just don’t believe this kid would be such a substantial upgrade over Rickie that it would make FB reverse course on naming Rickie QB1. Really? I can see it and it seems like Fran does too. What does “all in” even mean. Collins is the best option currently on the team, so he named him starter. If another QB comes along who is playing better, then a change will be made.Yeah have to agree to disagree, I see literally zero upside in naming him now unless you’re all in.
You believing Angeli won’t be better than Collins is an entirely different scenario than all the talk was about.I just don’t believe this kid would be such a substantial upgrade over Rickie that it would make FB reverse course on naming Rickie QB1. Where does Fran make it seem like that? Have we been linked to Angeli? The only kid that we brought in was a clear backup, so where has Fran shown that? And asking if he’s still obligated to start him if he’s injured is silly. All in, to me, is exactly what Fran Brown did. Said publicly he’s giving the keys to Rickie Collins.Really? If Collins thumb is bothering him come the start of the season and he is limited is Fran still obligated to start him? Wouldn’t that be all in.
That was quite literally my point the entire time, that I didn’t think Angeli would be such a substantial upgrade it would cause FB to walk back his public naming Rickie QB1 and saying he’s the guy.You believing Angeli won’t be better than Collins is an entirely different scenario than all the talk was about.
Fran said he wants to win now, period. If a better player at a position comes along Fran will play him. Again if team composition changes and someone is playing better, that player will play. A starter in April is not the same as a starter in September.Where does Fran make it seem like that? Have we been linked to Angeli?
