Question that needs to be cleared up if we get Bryant

can we add two 5th year guys with 1 year to play as well? If the NCAA would let us delay the penalty for one year if we are over 10 then why couldn't we go all the way to 13 if we choose to do so? I get the language the NCAA put in our ruling, but how can they not give us partial credit if we have 11 scholarships or dictate we can't add two 5th year guys with 1 year to play.

Yes. You either have the penalty or you don't. Limited to 10 or limited to 13. I proposed what you are suggesting in the Ennis thread yesterday. We should grab 2 fifth year guys if we get Bryant and they should be guys whose role is mentorship, not really in game contributors.

I don't see where it matters if they are mentors or contributors. I think the point is, if you are going to 11 and deferring, why not go to 13 since 5th year players will be gone before the penalties kick in in 216/17. It seems like it would be hard to find 5th year players though.

I highly doubt we add anybody but Bryant though. I'd LOVE to add a kid like Ennis with Bryant, or a PG and another big guy. But it doesn't appear JB and the staff have all that much interest in 5th year guys. Have we ever even been rumored to be looking at one in the past?

Someone suggested TE with all his millions pay for his brother's education so he could be a walk-on. If that happened I would be floored.
