- Love Dungey, but he struggled this game. He'd probably be the 1st to say it. Even when he completed passes, many of them were high, making it tough for the receivers to get YAC.
- Ironically our DL rushing the passer so well pushed Pitt into running the ball over and over, which obviously didn't go so well for us
- Best DL we've had that I can remember
- Think our Defense is set up for pass happy teams-great pass rush, small LB's. This however leaves us very vulnerable to run heavy teams. Wonder if we should at least have specialists for when we play the run heavy teams-i.e. play our bigger, stronger LB's, such as Williams, maybe Cullen. Can Richards even make it back to LB this season? Same thing at Safety-Saw Whitner and Cisco get trucked several times like a big brother throwing down their little brother.
- Can't speak to separation, but don't recall any dropped passes. Harris shows more and more each game. If he can get stronger w/o losing his speed (and he will), think he will be really good. Riley played well, too.
- We give up way too many long, explosive plays for TD's and rarely get them. If I had a dollar for how many times we were one broken tackle away from a TD, I'd be a wealthy man. Even when our backs break a tackle, they end up falling down from the momentum.
- Am I the only one who took a deep breath every time Pitt ran towards the perimeter? It seemed they usually weren't touched until 8 yards. Wish we would mix up our runs more instead of most of our runs trying to force our way through the middle of the LOS.
- Smzyt comes through for us again
- Obviously the key to the rest of the reason is can we fix the run Defense. If we can, think we could beat anyone on the schedule, though ND will be really tough. If we can't, think we can lose to any team on our schedule.
- Losing Nunn's commitment really hurts, as he he was our one commit with good offers. I know many our bullish on our young talent, but this upcoming recruiting class looks mediocre at best. Love Babers, but with his charisma, it surprises me we haven't done better there and don't think he recruited much at Bowling Green. I'm not even talking 4 or 5 stars-just 3 stars with solid P5 offers. With Rutgers struggling, we need to attack NY/NJ on the recruiting trail hard and beat the bushes. Heck if you're a good LB, you have a good shot play and maybe start year 1.
