I don't know. There are worse jobs than Syracuse, but I'm not sure who you want Syracuse to replace on that list. Between crowd support and the dearth of nearby talent, that's just the way it is.
I actually find Pittsburgh too high. I just don't see that as a top ACC job. I wouldn't have much of a problem pushing Pitt back behind Syracuse and everyone 8-11 up a spot.
I also think VT is a great job. I think with the next coach, if they get a guy that can really get after it recruiting-wise, they could be excellent. They've got an excellent atmosphere, are in good proximity to talent, and a in-state rival which has no history of, nor gives any indication of, being a serious football school. They've got a passionate fan base, but a fairly reasonable one as far as college football fans go, based on them not marching Beamer out of the building at the point of a spear. They expect a certain level of excellence, obviously, but you're not going to get fired for losing 2-3 games either.
I think its a tough league to rank. You'd think that the history and tradition of SU and BC would count for something, but certainly right now they arent top 25 teams. You also have to factor in salary, facilities and ease of recruiting. Pitt actually has a relatively strong recruiting bed. I think NC and NC state are over-rated.
Pitt, Louisville and Va Tech are too high. I have a hard time moving Syracuse ahead of any team on the list but it speaks more to what a great coaching opportunity a number of the ACC jobs are more than how unattractive Syracuse is. If the dome starts filling up, Cuse moves up.
