The timing of the announcement is curious. Perhaps they wanted to wait and see what Salahuddin was doing first. If thats the case, then he's going to Pitt.

Or maybe he had previously agreed to visit South Alabama and wanted to honor that prior to announcing. It isn't necessarily on the staff or related to another recruit. Could be a number of reasons why.

I think that Howard is going to do big things here.

Kid is a freaking physical specimen. The updated offer list that has been reported is a lot more like what I'd expect from a prospect with Howard's physical capabilities than just Tulane / La Tech.

My question is why didn’t he want to go to Mississippi State. Not questioning his ability, but was just curious if he wanted to go to school somewhere other than the state of Mississippi.

Tulane offering is actually a nice sign...one the kid is pretty smart and two...must be a decent RB as Tulane lives and dies off running backs.

I have to admit that I saw his video twice and wasn’t impressed. In fact, I was thinking he might make a better LB or safety than RB. If he was going to play offense, he will be a north/south bruiser that takes a lot of hits (but dishes plenty out too),

BUT THEN, I read here how great his senior tape looks and realize I’ve been watching his junior film. What a FRICKIN difference a year makes. In his senior year he looks so much more nimble and polished as a running back, while maintaining his physical edge. I was stunned this is the same guy. Absolutely thrilled to have him. Would love to know the changes he made for such a drastic improvement.

Agreed. Just getting a RB with legit 4,5 40 speed, who isn't going to get caught from behind, is great. That he already weighs over 200 pounds and runs over people, is awesome. Then you look at the film and see his ability to save blown up plays with quick decisions, great cuts and elite acceleration and wow! Any RB can score when given a big hole and a running start. The plays where he gets big gains with no hole are what separates him from other RBs.
