All upside with me. From the very first I have suppressed any thought that he would pick us......I do not expect him to, so anything to the contrary I will go ballistic in my exuberance otherwise no big deal.

Is this kid that good that he will change the trajectory of our program? How much better could he really be than Erv or Strickland? Or is it just a matter of perception?

Well, Erv is no longer a running back. As far as Strickland...well, we will see what happens there.

But this is a kid with more scholarship offers than any other RB in the country. He's legitimately excellent. He would be our biggest recruiting coup in recent memory - BY FAR. And it's also a matter of perception. The perception is a massive factor in why so many of us want to land him.

The perception of landing him would be huge. To see that Syracuse was able to compete with the big boys (Bama, Michigan, ND, Ohio St, and all his other offers he has) and get RW to commit to us over all these football factories would send a great message to other recruits. The other thing it does, is it opens the door for other high profile recruits. As most of you know, good recruits want to play with good recruits. When he commits to SU on Saturday (just my opinion, no insight) this will be considered a turning point for our program, the future will be bright.

In the words of coach P "got to go back and look at the film" watch his highlights Bothsocks its really impressive. We offered this guy in 9th grade.

Both, I think. Only time will tell if this player is more like Ernie Davis or Terry Richardson. But I think the buzz associated with the #44 would generate a shot of enthusiasm that has been lacking, and which this program sorely needs. And that would extend to the fanbase, on the recruiting trail, and within the program itself.

I don't know whether Washington would ultimately live up to the hype of #44 -- but I think it would take a special player, on and off the field, to rise to the occasion. Knowing what I've seen of this kid for the last several months, he's the right candidate.

#restore44

I am really pleased to see that his father believes that Syracuse is in a good place but as he states it is Roberts' decision. I think we can be cautiously optimistic though.

I think a commitment from him could catapult our recruiting class to a top 30 class this year with guys wanting to play with him and some guys taking a real look at Syracuse.

I think there are about 4 guys in this thread who have been saying since January that CUSE was in the drivers seat - I know I was one of them. Looking forward to have my faith rewarded on Saturday.

The part of this article that makes me feel confident is the fact that Coach Smith will be going down to visit RW on May 28th, over a month after Robert picks his school. I don't know where, but I thought I read somewhere that once he commits he is locked in so if we are visiting a month later I really like our chances.
Good catch on that part of the article. I missed that.
