The Energy Bus is about to take off, get your seat on the bus! #DrivewithaPurpose
Not sure what The Energy Bus is but i'm on board.
Let me preface this by saying I like Washington a lot. In fact, his build and running style remind me a lot of Maurice Jones-Drew. He is strong, has good feet, good balance, and is pretty tough to take down.
However, I think the forum needs to temper expectations a bit here. SouthLake Christian plays at a pretty low level of NC football. They got beat up pretty badly by the only large school they played. I have a couple of reservations about him being an impact player right away, and maybe some of those questions will be answered this season. The first I worry about is his speed. My guess is he is around a 4.7 - 4.8 kid right now. Mind you, that's a lot faster than a lot of you all think. Melvin Gordon ran a 4.55 at the combine AFTER being coached up on the 40 for weeks.
You can run a 4.8 if you are decisive and have a great first step. Right now he doesn't have to worry about that because his lower body is so stinking strong that kid literally bounce off of him. Which leads me to my second concern as to if he can adjust his style of play to a BCS level back. Some stronger kids have no problem doing that (DC3) while others can really struggle with that transition (AAM).
thats funny you mentioned dc3. thats who he reminds me of and i was thinking the same thing this morning. dc3 pre-injury. i still wonder what he couldve turned into if not for the hip.

Ishaq's father said the same thing. IM JUST SAYING i am afraid to get excited by that right now. Crossing fingers and toes though."I don't think Syracuse fans have to worry about Robert," Washington Sr. said. "That's my opinion."
Me likey.

I think he will be playing for East Gaston this year. They are a much bigger school than Southlake and in a bigger league. They had a bad record last year so the outcome of their season could give insight into how good Washington really is. I understand one player doesn't make a championship team. However, I do like the fact that he is excited to play for a less than average team against much better competition. If he picks Cuse I will be giddy for a couple weeks.Let me preface this by saying I like Washington a lot. In fact, his build and running style remind me a lot of Maurice Jones-Drew. I remember Charlotte Catholic had a couple high profile recruits two years ago. It is a pretty competitive league.I wouldn't necessarily say that they play a low level of football. Because they are a Christian school they are relegated to play other Christian or Day schools and not public programs... no different than ECU where Isaiah Johnson came from. Plus this is the south, Christian and Day schools are everywhere. Doesn't mean their FB programs aren't as strong as the public ones.
Weren't they both LB's that eventually went to Duke?I remember Charlotte Catholic had a couple high profile recruits two years ago. It is a pretty competitive league.
Washington Sr., who repeated his message toward the Syracuse fans later in the interview, said that the Orange coaching staff has been in "constant communication" with both of the Washingtons. He views SU running backs coach DeAndre Smith "like my second brother."
I think it was LB and QB. Yes they both did go to Duke. Cuse was recruiting at least one of them.Weren't they both LB's that eventually went to Duke?

I'm apparently not great at judging RBs. I thought George Morris was big time and thought Laray Smith had unbelievable moves. So on this kid I'm just going to go with his killer offers.Let me preface this by saying I like Washington a lot. In fact, his build and running style remind me a lot of Maurice Jones-Drew. I like how in the comments of that article, there's some hater claiming that the offers are all fake, because this person is CLEARLY a member of this board considering in his comment he mentions me specifically by my name on here. I have a couple guesses as to who it is, and love what a coward that person is for hiding behind yet another fake name, taking shots at people and tearing down recruits.
EDIT: The comment has since been deleted. It's amazing that Syracuse.com is actually monitoring trolls.
EDIT 2: It's kind of hilarious that the person confirmed my suspicion on who he is in the comments. What a sad, angry little man.
His father may have given us a reason to hope.

Honestly, I'd prefer not to dignify a clown who keeps claiming that Robert is lying about his offers.Who was it? I think they should be outed. There's no place for trash like that and IMO if they post here and it's recognizable that they post here then they should be banned for doing stuff like that, even if it isn't on this board.
