Really? The Dad gave an on the record interview with the Syracuse paper about Syracuse. I'm not always their biggest fan, but I don't see how they messed anything up. This seems more like Dad backtracking, as others have said.

Yeah - His Dad has a better track record then they do. Plus - interviews and quotes can be twisted or written so that they say things that were not intended.

If someone takes the time to answer your questions and help out for a story, the reporter should be upfront about things.

- The reporter have invaded Robert's life, his father, his mother and it looks like our sc*ut reporter even talked to Robert's GF. New stories are coming out twice a day over this week - meaning that they have spent a substantial amount of time talking to the media. Give them a break, be supportive of the program and be respectful/ honor their wishes in writing the story.

for many people committing means that you have a level of comfort with a program that you dont' have other places. Anything and anyone can ruin that comfort - weather, coach change, the media, an idiot fan.

You hate to see something like this affect a kid's future, but I'm sure it could

One thing we need to remember is that Robert and his family are undergoing a TON of pressure right now. Lots of calls, tweets, emails, etc from fans, coaches, reporters, etc, plus having to watch what is said, can be emotionally draining.

The recruiting process can be fun, but it can also be a serious bitch.

I thought this has been a pretty straight forward recruiting story. The kid has been straight forward with everything he has done.
