Going into halftime, man I thought we were well on our way to a 2nd half of inept offense and losing the game by 2+ touchdowns. Just didn't have the mojo going and the defense looked like they leveled off.

2nd half was so refreshing, and to see the adjustments that Dungey made and how he shook off the first half, man was I impressed. He really commanded that offense in the second half and made some big plays, and didn't make any dumb decisions.

Also, this is 2 games in a row where our line played a very clean game. One offsides call in 2 games. We need to clean up the illegal formation stuff but I've been pretty impressed with the discipline our line has shown through 2 games.

Happy with the win, loved the effort in the second half and the performance. We still have things to work on on offense, including Lester and some of the playcalling decisions, and on defense, specifically Rodney Williams and his positioning/reads on the field, but I'm happy where we are right now considering the injuries and youth. CMU should be another good opportunity for the team to play a very winnable home game, build some more confidence, work out some more of the kinks and head into LSU as best we can.

We're gonna beat CMU like redheaded step children, with Dungey's demonstrated ability to throw the ball down the field it is going to open things up for us more. It seemed like they didn't want to do that because they weren't sure he could make those throws ... sure enough after flicking that ball to Estime while on the move he demonstrated is ability to get the ball down the field. His throw to Ishmael was a laser ... he gives us a dimension that we haven't had since Nassib and seems to even have better touch/accuracy. I can't wait to watch this kid develop plus he is more mobile and athletic than Ryan was.

If he stays on this path he'll be far ahead of Nassib. Nassib really didn't come around as a solid dependable starter until his Redshirt Jr year (and yeah I know he had decent stats as a sophmore but he was up and down that whole season). I really like what I've seen from him so far. It's rare to have a freshman QB have a relatively lousy first half like that and come out with the poise and confidence to perform like he did in the 2nd half.

I know this is a bit over the top but he reminds me of a more mobile/athletic Matt Ryan at BC and yes I think he can be that good.

Yeah, not a fan of zone coverage without pressuring the QB.

Your son played well. He was the only one to properly read that screen pass otherwise Steven wouldve had a chance to brutalize the receiver.

And you that soft cushion bs was prematurely aging me in the first half.

I would agree. The DL dominated the 2nd half and turned the game around. Benteke's goal was superb though. I had never seen Liverpool in white before was that new?

Been a few years for the whites. We had white with green letters years ago when carlsberg was still our sponser and I loved those kits.

I know! I was literally screaming at the boob tube most of the first half. I was sooooo pissed! When we started rushing more than the DL is when we put the !@#$ hammer down on WF.

Defense really turned it on in the second half. We stopped with that 10 yard cushion bs and all of the sudden Wolford was holding the ball and getting hit.
Agreed. I think we needed to respect Wolford's ability, see what he could do and then make adjustments sooner.

Coaching was great today. Shafer looks much more relaxed on the sidelines so far through 2 games this year. In past years he was all over the place yelling like a maniac and seemed lost and confused. Now its a more cool, calm, and collected look and he seems to have grown into the role. Now look he still has to win or else he might get the boot but the coaching staff this year seems to have their stuff together. No wasted timeouts either.

The whole staff seems more in tune with the team and what the team can do.

Not to nitpick there was def a wasted timeout early in 3rd quarter. Coaches did make their adjustments and let Dungey play. The kid stepped up and let the ball loose and good things happened. We started 0-6 or 0-7 on third down but fought through it. I see us having trouble on long sustained drives going forward but we showed our big play potential on both sides of the ball.
