Class of 2014 Recruits and Offers

We're focusing on Florida for CB talent this year and are heavily involved with a few guys that will decide in January. So you may need to be patient on that one.

OL is a huge question mark to me - I figured we'd take 4 this year and so far we have 1 and I don't have a clue who else is seriously in the picture.
Thats good to read. Patience ? I don't have much of a choice here. Patience has never been a virtue of mine as a matter of fact in those comment sections on my report cards I think it was mentioned by a couple teachers. I never had issues in getting along with my classmates.Shared stuff appropriately at all times.Bring in those CBs and O-line guys.

if we offer this kid i worry about where we stand with Ishmael (or cooper isn't going to qualify)

Would much rather have Ismael...

He's still listed as a corner on 247...what's that all about?

We are good with Ishmael. Who knows about Cooper. Just a hunch but I can see some attrition from current WRs on the roster

I see attrition as well and I have no doubt we're going to bring in a full compliment of 25 kids this year.

This kid is also a smurf. His film looks like he's 2 feet tall.

After all of Brisley's success how can we say no.

Whose Syracuse nearest to closing in on next?

And are Sykes and Holley realistic targets?

Mods would you please tack this to the top of the recruiting page for posters that may be unaware of this thread. Thanks.

How many open scholarship spots does Syracuse have left? We have 14 players commited right now so how many more spots are left? I was wondering because we only have 18 scholarship seniors on the team right now. I think 2 of them in Krautman and Flemming can come back on medical if they want. But, then Marona is retiring and I think I saw someone say Kinder is going to Stony Brook so that puts us back at 18. Do we have less than 85 scholarships on the roster now or are their only 4 spots left. Is anyone else leaving cause it seems like Hickey and Smith are staying.

We were talking this over in another thread and I think the max number we could take this year, if we have all the roster spots open, is 23-24, I believe the minimum is 19. Now that would include somewhere in the range of 3-5 guys with eligibility still remaining leaving. So it's somewhere between 5-10 more recruits that we can take would be my guess. A lot of moving parts still.

We know of Marona, Kinder seems completely logical all things considered. Outside of that, I'm not sure how many other players with eligibility are moving on - there may even be some transfers that we haven't considered or know about yet that the staff has been informed of.

I think this is more likely to be a full class. Maybe even up to 26. There are others besides Kinder that are moving on with eligibility remaining.

Right now we have 67 players "potentially" returning ... which means room for 18 recruits.

If Hickey enters the NFL Draft, or if Kinder takes his degree, or if Hale or anyone else leaves, we can take a few more.

I am assuming that Smith, Krautman, and Flemming are returning.

Smith and Krautman are ... not sure about Flemming.

.

Does that include early enrollees who can be counted against last years number, Marona's retirement, MPB/Walls dismissal

Just looking at total # of recruits we can add.

85 - # of returning players = # of available slots.

I think 4 January enrollees can be counted towards last year's class, but that doesn't change the total number.

Wishlist from here on out [for me]:

OT
TE [Enoicy would be divine]
DE [would like to land two]
RB
WR [Ismael]

That gets us to 20. If we add more, I'd like to see another OL and a DT, at minimum.

Have to believe that we'll be scouring the "waiver wire" after signing day to look for diamonds in the rough who slipped through the cracks, potential transfers, etc. for a Xian Jones / Chris Clark type.

@Tru_JaYc3: Been through a lot these past 2 years happy to find a new home good luck Syracuse can't wait to be a #49er at Charlotte

We have a extra spot with Josh Manley transferring. Guess he didnt work out he was a pretty high recruit from Georgia. If i remember correctly he picked us over Georgia Tech.

Wow too bad it didn't work out for him, he was a pretty highly regarded recruit and I believe related to Dexter Manley too.
